Tang Yijun (Chinese :唐一军; pinyin :Táng Yījūn;born March 1961) is a Chinese politician who has been under an anti-corruption investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission since April 2024. [1] [2] [3]
Previously,he served as chairman of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee from 2023 to 2024,the 12th Minister of Justice of China from 2020 to 2023,governor of Liaoning Province from 2017 to 2020,and party secretary of Ningbo City from 2016 to 2017. [4] [5]
Tang is considered native to Ju County,Shandong,but spent most of his life in Zhejiang. He joined the workforce in July 1977,working for communes in Qingtian County,Yongkang County,and Lishui County,shortly after the death of Mao. Between 1980 and 1984,shortly after economic reforms began,Tang was a clerical worker at the Lishui party school. From September 1984 to July 1986,he studied political economics in the theoretical undergraduate program of the Zhejiang Provincial Party School. He was assigned work in the theory division of publicity department of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee. [5]
In October 1985,Tang joined the Chinese Communist Party. In 1991,Tang began working for the General Office of the Zhejiang party committee under Li Zemin. In July 1997,he became secretary-general of the Zhoushan party organization. In June 2002,he was named secretary-general of the Zhejiang Commission for Discipline Inspection. From September 2003 to July 2006,he studied economics and management in the on-the-job graduate program of the Correspondence College of the Central Party School. [5] In June 2005,he was named deputy party chief and Discipline Inspection secretary of Ningbo. In February 2010,he became the chief of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Ningbo. In February 2011,he was named chairman of the Ningbo People's Political Consultative Conference. [6]
In May 2016,Tang became acting mayor of Ningbo. [7] In August 2016,he became Communist Party Secretary of Ningbo and a member of the Zhejiang provincial party standing committee. [8] In May 2017,Tang was named deputy party chief of Zhejiang province. He served in the role for five months before being appointed as acting governor of Liaoning in October 2017. [9] [10]
On April 29,2020,he was appointed Minister of Justice,succeeding Fu Zhenghua. [11] [12]
Tang was elected as chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on 14 January 2023. [13] Succeeded by executive vice president of the Supreme People's Court He Rong,Tang was removed from the office of Minister of Justice of China on 24 February 2023. [14]
On 2 April 2024,Tang was suspected of "serious violations of laws and regulations" by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI),the party's internal disciplinary body,and the National Supervisory Commission,the highest anti-corruption agency of China. [15] [16] [3]
Tang Liangzhi is a Chinese politician who is the current party branch secretary of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was previously mayor of Chongqing from January 2018 to December 2021,party secretary of Chengdu,the capital of Sichuan Province,and mayor of Wuhan,the capital of Hubei.
Over one hundred officials of provincial-ministerial level and above have been implicated by the anti-corruption campaign in China,which began after the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in 2012. The number of officials implicated below the provincial level are much higher. Chen Xu is a former Chinese prosecutor who served as the Prosecutor General of Shanghai People's Procuratorate from 2008 to 2016. He was investigated in March 2017 by the Communist Party's anti-graft agency,suspected of corruption.

Previously,he served as the head of the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party Hebei Committee and the Mayor of Shijiazhuang. He was placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission shortly after his retirement. Ai is the first leader of vice-ministerial level to spontaneously hand himself in to the anti-corruption agency of China after the implementation of Supervision Law in March 2018.
Li Jinzao is a former Chinese politician. As of July 2020 he was under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-graft body. Previously he served as vice-minister of Culture and Tourism of China.
Zheng Shanjie is a Chinese politician who has served as the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) since March 2023,and as Governor as well as Chinese Communist Party Deputy Committee Secretary of Zhejiang and CCP Committee Secretary of Ningbo.
Wang Yong is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in both Shandong and Hainan provinces. He was investigated by China's top anti-graft agency in July 2020. Previously he served as vice-chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He entered the workforce in January 1973,and joined the Chinese Communist Party in July 1976. He was a delegate to the 12th National People's Congress.
Xiao Yi is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in his home-province Jiangxi. He was investigated by China's top anti-graft agency in May 2021. Previously he served as vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He entered the workforce in September 1981,and joined the Chinese Communist Party in August 1984. He was a delegate to the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 11th National People's Congress.
Gong Jianhua is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in his home-province Jiangxi. He surrendered himself to and is cooperating with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and National Supervisory Commission for investigation of "suspected violations of disciplines and laws" on 29 November 2021. Previously he served as vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress. Gong is the fourth vice-provincial level official in Jiangxi to be targeted by China's top anticorruption watchdog since the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party,behind Li Yihuang,Shi Wenqing and Xiao Yi.
Ge Huijun is a Chinese politician who served as chairwoman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. She is a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. She was an alternate member of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and is an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

The 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) was elected at the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party on 22 October 2022. At its 1st Plenary Session,the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection nominated its candidates for secretary,deputy secretaries,secretary-general and other members of the 20th CCDI Standing Committee. These were later approved by the 20th Central Committee at its 1st Plenary Session on 23 October 2022.
