Vadodara Stock Exchange (VSE) is a defunct stock exchange located in the city of Vadodara and fully owned by Government of India [1] in Western India. [2] It was established in 1990 at Vadodara. It is the only existing stock exchange in the state of Gujarat along with Ahmedabad. [2] It is recognized by the Securities Contract (Regulations) Act of 1956 as a permanent stock exchange. [3]

From a humble beginning in 1986 with the Vadodara Stock Brokers' Association having 150 members, it was incorporated on 22 January 1990 as Vadodara Stock Exchange Limited. By 1999, the exchange had a total of 321 brokers, of which 65 were corporate brokers, 253 were proprietor brokers, and 3 were partnership brokers. Then, there were only 85 sub-brokers registered. Harshad Shantilal Mehta was an Indian stockbroker. Mehta’s involvement in the 1992 Indian securities scam made him infamous as a market manipulator. Although, as reported by the Economic Times, some financial experts believe that Harshad Mehta did not commit any fraud, he had "simply exploited loop holes in the system".

Nazarbaug Palace or Nazar Bāgh Palace was the Gaekwad's royal palace in the city of Vadodara, Gujarat state, western India. The Nazar Bāgh Palace' was built in 1721. It had three storeys and is the oldest palace in Baroda. It was constructed by Malhār Rāo Gaekwad in the late 19th century. This palace was used on ceremonial occasions by the Gaekwads. Till recently, it housed the royal family heirlooms. It had solid gold and silver guns, each barrel weighing over 100 kg. The grounds also contain the Shïsh Mahal, a Palace of Glass.

Magadh Stock Exchange Association Ltd (MSEA) is located in Patna, India. It was established in the year 1986. It is one among the 25 odd regional stock exchanges in India. The exchange was disbanded on 3 September 2007 by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Parimal Dhirajlal Nathwani is an Indian politician and industrialist. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, upper house of the Parliament of India from Andhra Pradesh in the 2020 Rajyasabha elections for the third time earlier he was elected twice from Jharkhand. He was an entrepreneur and a trader until the mid-1990s. He joined Reliance Group in 1997. As of 2016, he was the Group President of Corporate Affairs at Reliance Industries Ltd., a part of the headed by Mukesh Ambani. He played a pivotal role in land acquisition and setting up the biggest grassroots crude oil refinery on the western coast near Jamnagar in Gujarat.

The 1992 Indian stock market scam was a market manipulation carried out by Harshad Shantilal Mehta with other bankers and politicians on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The scam caused significant disruption to the stock market of India, with over one billion USD defrauded.
