Anfield is a suburb of Liverpool, England, in the Liverpool City Council ward of Anfield. Historically in Lancashire, it is part of the Liverpool Walton Parliamentary constituency. The population of the Liverpool Ward at the time of the 2011 census was 14,510. The area has been home to the football club Liverpool F.C. ever since the club's founding in 1892. The club's home stadium, Anfield, has been located there since its founding in 1884. As of September 2019, it is ranked the 10th most deprived ward in the United Kingdom.
Liverpool St James station in Liverpool, England, was a railway station situated on the old Cheshire Lines Committee line from Liverpool Central between Central and Brunswick stations. This line is now a part of Merseyrail's Northern Line. The station is located in a deep cutting between two tunnels at the junction of Parliament Street and St. James' Place, opposite St James' Church.
The Canada Dock Branch is a 4-mile 59 chain long railway line in Liverpool, England. The line's route is from the large Edge Hill rail junction in the east of Liverpool to Seaforth Dock to the north. The line was originally built by the London and North Western Railway terminating at Canada Dock, with a later branch extension added to Alexandra Dock and links onto the MDHC railway lines. The line is not electrified.

Stanley railway station was located in Newsham Park to the north of Prescot Road on the Canada Dock Branch, Fairfield, Liverpool, England. It opened on 1 July 1870 and closed to passengers on 31 May 1948.
Balliol Road railway station was on the Alexandra Dock Branch, Bootle, Merseyside, England, it opened on 5 September 1881 and closed to passengers on 31 May 1948. Goods trains to and from Seaforth Dock still pass through the station site.
Alexandra Dock railway station was located on the Alexandra Dock Branch, in Liverpool, England. The station served Alexandra Dock until the last train on 31 May 1948. Formal closure followed on 26 February 1949.
Canada Dock railway station was the passenger terminus of the Canada Dock Branch, situated near Canada Dock, Liverpool, England.
The Merseyrail City Line is shown in red on the Merseyrail map. Essentially the City Line is 'shared' train services. When a commuter train, not operated by Merseyrail, enters the Liverpool City Region it essentially becomes a Merseyrail City Line service with stations given Merseyrail's yellow branding, signage and ticketing. Butts Lane Halt was a railway station in the Blowick suburb of Southport, Merseyside.
The Lancashire Union Railway ran between Blackburn and St Helens in Lancashire, England. It was built primarily to carry goods between Blackburn and Garston Dock on the River Mersey, and also to serve collieries in the Wigan area. Most of the line has now closed, except for the St Helens-to-Wigan section that forms part of the main line between Liverpool and the North.
