2023 Formula 4 CEZ Championship

The 2023 Formula 4 CEZ Championship, known as 2023 ACCR Czech Formula prior to the FIA certification in May, is the first season of the Formula 4 CEZ Championship, a motor racing series for the Central Europe regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, and organised and promoted by the Automobile Club of the Czech Republic (ACCR), Krenek Motorsport and HM Sports. It commenced on 29 April at Hungaroring in Hungary and will conclude on 8 October at Balaton Park Circuit in the same country. [2]

Race calendar and results

The provisional calendar featuring six round across five countries was published on 3 November 2022. [15] All rounds, except for the Slovakiaring one supporting the European Truck Racing Championship, are a part of the ESET Cup package. [16] The first round at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on 8–9 April was cancelled and replaced by a standalone event at Balaton Park on 7–8 October. [2]

The Hungaroring is a 4.381 km (2.722 mi) motorsport racetrack in Mogyoród, Pest County, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget – Budapest's largest park – but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. Construction works started on 1 October 1985. It was built in eight months, less time than any other Formula One circuit. The first race was held on 24 March 1986, in memory of János Drapál, the first Hungarian who won motorcycle Grand Prix races. According to a survey put together by the national tourism office of Hungary, Mogyoród ranks third among Hungarian destinations visited by tourists, behind the Danube Bend area and Lake Balaton, but ahead of Budapest. The circuit has FIA Grade 1 license.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Brno Circuit</span> Race track

The Masaryk circuit or Masarykring, also referred to as the Brno Circuit, refers to two motorsport race tracks located in Brno, Czech Republic. The original street circuit was made up of public roads, and at its longest measured 29.194 km (18.140 mi). In 1949, events such as the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix attracted top teams and drivers. The track is named after the first president of Czechoslovakia, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Racing on the old roads ended after 1986, when the new (current) circuit was opened.

Jenzer Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Switzerland. Founded in 1993 by Andreas Jenzer the team is currently competing in FIA Formula 3, Italian F4 and F4 Spanish and has had a number of drivers who would turn out to be successful in motorsport, most notably Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda.

The 2022 ACCR Formula 4 Trophy was a motor racing series held in the Central and Eastern Europe, competed over four rounds. The full six rounds schedule was supposed to be the first season of the ACCR Formula 4 Championship organized by the Automobile Club of the Czech Republic. The season was supposed to start with its first round taking place at the Hungaroring in April and with the final round taking place at Brno Circuit in September. After many calendar changes caused by massive delivery delays, it was announced on 6 July that the start of the championship as an FIA Formula 4 Championship would be postponed to 2023 and that only the last three original rounds would be held as a trophy series. The series uses Tatuus F4-T-421 chassis primarily, although Tatuus F4-T014 was eligible for the Trophy class.

The 2022 TCR Eastern Europe Trophy is the fourth season of the TCR Eastern Europe Trophy.

The 2023 Eurocup-3 season is the inaugural season of the Eurocup-3 series. It is a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seater open wheel formula racing cars held across Europe. The championship was created as an alternative to the FIA-sanctioned Formula Regional European Championship and the Euroformula Open championship, after the latter series struggled to attract entries in late 2022.

The 2023 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine is a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across Europe. The championship features a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula Regional cars that conform to the FIA Formula Regional regulations for the championship. This is the fifth season of the championship and the third after a merger with Formula Renault Eurocup which resulted to the change of the engine supplier to Alpine.

Callan O'Keeffe is a South African former racing driver, driver coach and founder of the School Of Send. He is a former member of both the Red Bull Junior Team and the Lotus F1 Junior Team.
