The 2018 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship season was the third season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began on 7 July at the Sepang International Circuit and finished on 1 December at the same venue.

The calendar for the 2018 season expanded upon the previous season. The Clark International Speedway round in the Philippines was discontinued and replaced with the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, India. [2]
The series follows the standard F1 points scoring system with the addition of 1 point for fastest lap and 3 points for pole. The best 18 results out of 24 races counted towards the championship. [3]
The fastest qualifying laps determine the grid positions for race 1. The finishing positions of the entire field in race 1 are reversed to determine the grid positions for race 2. The finishing positions of the entire field in race 2 are reversed to determine the grid positions for race 3.

ADAC Formel Masters was an ADAC sanctioned open wheel racing series based in Germany, held annually from 2008 to 2014. It was replacement of the local Formula BMW championship. The first season was in 2008 and is the main feeder series to the ATS Formula 3 Cup. Like Formula Ford, French F4 Championship and Formula Abarth, the Formel Masters is aimed at karting graduates. In 2015 it was replaced by the ADAC Formula 4.
French F4 Championship, formerly known as Formula Renault Campus France, Formula Campus, Formul'Academy Euro Series, F4 Eurocup 1.6 is a form of open wheel racing founded in 1993 by Louis Drouet. It is based in France and aims at karting graduates. The series currently organized by the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA). Formerly, the champion receives support to continue in one of the Formula Renault 2.0 championships. In 2010, the re-branded series was made part of the World Series by Renault, but was then dropped for 2011. Since 2018, the series runs under FIA moniker.
The 2016 French F4 Championship season was the 24th season of the series for 1600cc Formula Renault machinery, and the sixth season to run under the guise of the French F4 Championship. The series began on 1 April at Le Castellet and ended on 6 November at Montmeló, after six rounds and twenty-four races.
The 2016–17 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship season was the inaugural season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began on 5 August at the Sepang International Circuit and finished on 22 January 2017 at the same venue, after 36 races held across six rounds.
The 2017–18 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship season was the second season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began on 30 September 2017 at the Sepang International Circuit and finished on 15 April 2018 at the same venue, after 29 races held across five rounds on three countries.
The 2018 SMP F4 Championship was the fourth season of the SMP F4 Championship. The series is also known as the FIA North-European Zone (NEZ) championship. Koiranen GP, despite creating Formula Academy Finland, continued as the promoter. The season started in Smolensk Ring on 5 May and finished in Assen Circuit on 21 October.
The 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship was the inaugural season of the FIA Formula 3 Championship, a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seat open-wheel formula racing cars. The championship featured drivers competing in 3.4-litre Formula 3 racing cars which conform to the technical regulations, or formula, of the championship. It ran in support of the Formula 1 World Championship and its sister series, the FIA Formula 2 Championship. It serves as the third tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The championship was formed by the merger of the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2018, which brought the two championships under the umbrella of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The Formula One theme song composed by Brian Tyler, which debuted in the 2018 F1 season, would be used in Formula 3 broadcasts.
The 2019 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship – Fueled by Petron was the fourth season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began at the Sepang International Circuit on 5 April and ended at the same venue on 15 December.
Hon Chio Leong, also known as Charles Leong, is a racing driver from Macau. He is the only local driver to win the Macau Grand Prix twice, albeit in Formula 4 machinery. He currently competes in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, having previously competed in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
The 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship was a motor racing championship for Formula 2 cars, sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship was the fifty-fourth season of Formula 2 racing and the fourth season run under the FIA Formula 2 Championship moniker. It is an open-wheel racing category, that serves as the second tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The category was run in support of selected rounds of the 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship was a spec series, all teams and drivers competing in the championship ran the same car, the Dallara F2 2018.

Lucca Allen is an Irish racing driver who last competed in the Le Mans Cup with Graff Racing. He was champion of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship in 2019, and previously competed in Super Formula Lights.

Amaury Cordeel is a Belgian racing driver who is currently competing in the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight, having prior raced for Invicta Virtuosi Racing and Van Amersfoort Racing. He has previously raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Formula Renault Eurocup, Toyota Racing Series and F3 Asian Championship, as well as French, ADAC, Italian, UAE, Spanish and SMP F4. He won the 2018 Spanish F4 champion.
Nazim Azman is a Malaysian racing driver who competed in the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for Sime Darby Racing Team. He previously competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Hitech Grand Prix. He is a race winner in BRDC Formula 3 and the Euroformula Open Championship.
Kush Maini is an Indian racing driver, who most recently competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for DAMS Lucas Oil.
Sami Meguetounif is a French racing driver who most recently competed in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident. He previously competed in the Formula Regional European Championship for two seasons in 2022 and 2023 with MP Motorsport.
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, also known as Tern Inthraphuvasak, is a Thai racing driver who is set to compete in the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Campos Racing, having most recently competed with AIX Racing in the previous year. He is the son of GT racing driver Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak.
