The 2020 F4 Chinese Championship (Shell Helix FIA F4 Chinese Championship) was the sixth season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It began on 19 September at the Zhuhai International Circuit [1] and ended on 22 November at Guia Circuit as a part of the 2020 Macau Grand Prix. [2]

Race calendar and results

The season was due to start on April 18-19 as a support series to 2020 Chinese Grand Prix but the event has been called off in view of the health concerns caused by COVID-19 pandemic. [5] The calendar has been adjusted many times [6] [7] [8] and the up to date version has been published on 2 September and features 3 round calendar with Round 1 and 2 taking place at Zhuhai International Circuit and the final stage to be announced. [1] The confirmation of Guia Circuit as the place of the last competition was declared on 16 September. The races of the final round granted double points to the driver's championship. [9]

Notes

  1. He Zijian scored the fastest time in qualifying but had his time deleted. Gao Yujia scored the second-fastest time, but was issued a 3-place grid penalty. Hong Shijie inherited pole position.
  2. Gao Yujia finished the first but was issued a 30 seconds penalty and a 3-place grid penalty for race 2 after the race, due to causing a collision with Hong Shijie. He Zijian inherited race win.

The 2020 Formula 4 UAE Championship was the fourth season of the Formula 4 UAE Championship, a motor racing series for the United Arab Emirates regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, and organised and promoted by the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) and AUH Motorsports.

The 2020 French F4 Championship was the tenth season to run under the guise of the French F4 Championship and the third under the FIA Formula 4 regulations. The championship used Mygale M14-F4 chassis. For 2020, the series used a new 1.3-liter turbocharged engine produced by Renault Sport, replacing the previously used 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine. The series began on 21 August at Circuit Paul Armagnac and ended on 22 November at Circuit Paul Ricard.

The 2021 F4 British Championship was a multi-event, Formula 4 open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across United Kingdom. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, competing in Formula 4 cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. This, the seventh season, following on from the British Formula Ford Championship, was the seventh year that the cars conformed to the FIA's Formula 4 regulations. Part of the TOCA tour, it formed part of the extensive program of support categories built up around the BTCC centrepiece.

The 2020 Macau Grand Prix was a Formula 4 (F4) car race that took place on the streets of Macau on 22 November 2020. Because of strict Chinese quarantine regulations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the race became an F4 event for the first time in 37 years and was part of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)-administered China Formula 4 Championship. The event featured two races: an eight-lap qualifying race to set the grid for the twelve-lap main event. The 2020 Macau Grand Prix was the race's 67th running, the first for F4 cars, and the final meeting of the three-round 2020 China Formula 4 Championship.

The 2021 Formula 4 United States Championship season was the sixth season of the Formula 4 United States Championship, a motor racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America.

The 2021 F4 Spanish Championship was the sixth season of the Spanish F4 Championship. It was a multi-event motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, based in Spain. The championship featured drivers competing in 1.4 litre Tatuus-Abarth single seat race cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. The series was organised by RFEDA.

Pinnacle Motorsport is an Irish licensed, Philippines based motor racing team founded in 2016 by Irish former racers John O'Hara and Gary Thompson. Both have experience at Formula 3 level, the former a race winner in the Asian Formula Three series, and had tested for the A1 Team Ireland, the latter featuring in the Japanese F3 and 2013 F3 European series. While the team began using the PRT Racing name in the 2016 Formula Masters China series and 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series sprint and endurance LMP3 events, they adopted the Pinnacle Motorsport name from the 2017 season onward. Further involvement in open wheel racing came in China F4 and F3 Asian series. However, both prior to their official formation and throughout their continued operations, Pinnacle have partnered with KCMG to operate many of their motorsport programs across Asia including the Blancpain GT Series Asia GT3Am, Audi R8 LMS Cup, FRD LMP3 Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Asian Formula Renault Series, and the aforementioned Formula Masters China series. A similar partnership also existed in F3 Asia with B-Max Racing.

The 2021 F4 Chinese Championship was the seventh season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It began on 22 October at Zhuhai International Circuit and ended on 5 December at Ningbo International Circuit.

The 2021 Macau Grand Prix was a motor race for Formula 4 (F4) cars held on the streets of Macau on 21 November 2021. Just like in 2020, the race was an F4 event, and was part of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)-administered China Formula 4 Championship for the second time running. The event consisted of two races; an eight-lap qualifying race deciding the starting grid for the twelve-lap main event. The 2021 race was the 68th running of the Macau Grand Prix, the second for F4 cars and the second meeting of the three-round 2021 China Formula 4 Championship.

The 2023 Formula 4 UAE Championship was the seventh season of the Formula 4 UAE Championship, a motor racing series for the United Arab Emirates regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, and organised and promoted by the Emirates Motorsport Organization (EMSO) and Top Speed.

The 2023 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship was the fifth season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship and the first one since 2019. Top Speed was appointed as the new organizer and promoter as the series switched to the Tatuus F4-T421 car, the Abarth engine and the Giti tires.

The 2024 F4 Chinese Championship will be the tenth season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It begins on 19 April at Shanghai International Circuit and ends on 20 October at Zhuhai International Circuit.
