The 2026 Norfolk and Suffolk mayoral election is due to be held on 7 May 2026 to elect the inaugural Mayor of Norfolk and Suffolk who will lead the Norfolk and Suffolk Combined County Authority.
The Conservative and Green parties have both announced candidates. Labour, the Liberal Democrats and Reform UK due to announce their candidates before the end of 2025. The deadline for candidate nomination is 9 April 2026. [1]
The Conservative Party selected Tim Passmore as their candidate in August 2025. [2] He has been the police and crime commissioner for Suffolk since 2012.
In September 2025, the Green Party of England and Wales announced that Caroline Topping had been selected as their candidate. [3] She has been the leader of East Suffolk District Council since 2023. [4]
The Labour Party selected Carli Harper as their candidate in October 2025. She has been a councillor on Norwich City Council since 2024. [5]
The Liberal Democrats say that they are due to complete their selection process for their candidate by the end of autumn 2025. Five candidates are in the running. [5] [6]
Reform UK have indicated that their candidate will be announced in October 2025. [5]
