Transport in India consists of transport by land, water and air. Public transport is the primary mode of road transport for most of the Indian citizens, and India's public transport systems are among the most heavily used in the world.

The Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC) is a planned industrial development project between India's capital, Delhi and its financial hub, Mumbai. The DMIC project was launched in pursuance of an MOU signed between the Government of India and the Government of Japan in December 2006. It is one of the world's largest infrastructure projects with an estimated investment of US$90 billion and is planned as a high-tech industrial zone spread across six states, as well as Delhi, the national capital and itself a Union Territory. The investments will be spread across the 1,500 km long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor which will serve as the industrial corridor's transportation backbone.
Janmarg, also known as Ahmedabad BRTS, is a bus rapid transit system in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is operated by Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited, a subsidiary of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and others. It is designed by CEPT University. It was inaugurated in October 2009. The network expanded to 89 kilometres (55 mi) by December 2017 with daily ridership of 3,49,000 passengers. BRTS won several nation and international awards for design, implementation and operation. It was rated Silver on BRT Standard in 2013.
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) corporation run by the Government of India's Ministry of Railways to undertake planning, development, and mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the "Dedicated Freight Corridors" (DFC). The DFCCIL was registered as a company under the Companies Act 1956 in 2006.
India does not currently have any railway lines with trains operating at internationally defined standards of high speed. The fastest train at present is the Vande Bharat with operation speeds of up to 180 km/h, though the fastest service is Gatimaan Express with an operational speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) and average speed of 113 km/h (70 mph) on the Delhi-Agra section, since the routes used by Train 18 are capped at 130 km/h for safety reasons.
The Western Railway Elevated Corridor, also known as the Oval Maidan-Virar elevated corridor, was a proposed rapid transit corridor that would have run along the same alignment as the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, and link Oval Maidan with Virar.

The CBD Relief Line was a proposed underground railway line through the Sydney central business district. Rewari Junction railway station, station code RE, is a major railway station of the Indian Railways serving the city of Rewari in the Indian state of Haryana. It is in the Jaipur Division of the North Western Railway zone and lies on the Delhi–Ajmer–Ahmedabad route. Six railway lines branch out from this railway station. The seventh railway line from Rewari will be laid as a dedicated freight railway line as a part of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor(WDFC) is a broad gauge freight corridor under construction in India by Indian Railways. It will connect India's capital, Delhi, and its economic hub, Mumbai. This corridor will cover a distance of 1483 km and would be electrified with double line operation.
The Srinagar Metro is a rapid transit planned for the city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The plans for the Srinagar Metro have been finalised with the work expected to start in 2020. The proposed network will have two corridors. Each corridor of Srinagar metro will have 12 stations each with the total cost expected to be around ₹5,000 crore. The Ahmedabad–Udaipur Line is a railway route of both Western and North Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. It plays an important role in short-connectivity reaching to North India and Eastern India from Gujarat and Coastal areas of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka & Kerala.
Delhi- Ghaziabad - Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System is an 82.15 km long, under-construction, semi-high speed rail corridor connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut. It is one of the three rapid-rail corridors planned under Phase-I of Regional Rapid Transport System (RRTS) project of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With maximum speed of 160 km/h (99.42 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project will cost ₹30,274 crore (US$4.2 billion) and will have 24 stations including two depots at Duhai and Modipuram. On 8 March 2019, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India laid the Foundation Stone of this corridor. Local transit services will also be provided on the Delhi- Meerut RRTS network in Meerut with13 stations in the span of 21 km for the local transit needs.
