B-Bop's, Inc. is a double drive-thru 1950s themed casual fast food restaurant chain, with franchise locations in central Iowa.
B-Bop's was created by Bob Johnson in 1988. The first B-Bop's was located at 1500 East Euclid, Des Moines, Iowa, as Johnson saw it as the ideal location to build a double drive-thru. [1] That location has now been demolished after Bob Johnson built a new B-Bops around the corner on East 14th St. [1] The chain began franchising in 1994.
Today, there are twelve B-Bop's locations in Iowa, ten of which are in the Des Moines area along with two in Ames. [2] A location in Cedar Rapids on Edgewood Road was removed in the early 2000s.
B-Bop's has won Cityview's Best of Des Moines award in the category of Best Burger for twenty six years in a row. [3] B-Bop's was also a runner-up for Best French Fry for Cityview's Best of Des Moines awards for the past five years and 2016 runner up for best hangover food.

Hy-Vee was founded in 1930 by Charles Hyde and David Vredenburg in Beaconsfield, Iowa, in a small brick building known as the Beaconsfield Supply Store, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Younkers Inc. is an American online retailer and former department store chain founded as a family-run dry goods business in 1856 in Keokuk, Iowa. The retailer had evolved over more than 150 years to include a presence in locations throughout Iowa and bordering states in the Midwest region of the United States. Younkers became influential as it acquired several rivals throughout the 20th century both inside and outside of Iowa. The chain itself was sold by the late 1990s, with ownership transferring out of state, and its Des Moines-based headquarters closed by 2003 as a part of a corporate consolidation. Following its last sale in 2006, Younkers operated as a subsidiary of The Bon-Ton, with locations in seven Midwestern states, primarily in shopping malls. As of 2013 the chain operated more than fifty locations in the region. On August 29, 2018, Younkers closed its doors one last time.

The chain was founded as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers by Raymond L. Danner Sr. on August 15, 1969, in Donelson, Tennessee. The chain is currently owned by private-equity firm Centre Partners. Hot 'n Now is an American fast-food restaurant based in Holt, Michigan. Founded in 1984, the chain once grew to more than 150 locations throughout the United States at its peak. Subsequently, under the ownership of PepsiCo, the chain filed for bankruptcy in 2004, and was then sold to STEN Corporation. As of April 2024, the company operates 1 location in Michigan. The majority of the chain's locations focused entirely on drive-thru service, featuring a small-footprint building with a tall, slanted roof style. Some previous locations were more traditional fast-food locations, complete with seating, and others were combined with gas stations.
