A major landslide occurred in Hengtaiyu Industrial Park, Guangming District, on December 20, 2015. As of 21 December, it results in one death, 76 people missing and 16 hospitalizations. Waste materials generated from nearby construction works piled up into a hill which collapsed and consequently destroyed 33 buildings, the mud and debris covered an area greater than ten hectares (25 acres).

Immediately after the accident, Shenzhen City and Guangming New District activated the rescue emergency plan. Chinese authorities had over 2,906 rescue personnel, including approximately 800 from the National Defense Force, on the scene to fully carry out rescue work. On December 26, 2015, a silent mourning ceremony was held in Guangming New District for the accident victims. For the 4,630 employees of the companies affected by this accident, all of them have been resettled by December 30, 2015. As of January 6, 2016, the families of the 19 victims have completed the signing of the compassionate agreement. On May 5, 2017, the public sentencing of the 26 personnel directly responsible for the Landside Accident and 19 defendants was held, and more than 40 people were sentenced.

Shenzhenbei Railway Station is one of the four large intercity railway stations of Shenzhen, located in Longhua District. It has 11 platforms and 20 lines. It is an interchange station between the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, future Shenzhen–Zhanjiang high-speed railway and the Shenzhen Metro Lines 4, 5 and 6. Construction started in 2007 and was completed in June 2011. The Line 4 and Line 5 platforms opened on 22 June 2011, CRH platforms opened on 26 December 2011 and Line 6 platforms opened on 18 August 2020.

Pingshan Center station is a station on Line 14 of Shenzhen Metro in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, which is opened on 28 October 2022. It is located in Pingshan District.

Line 29 of the Shenzhen Metro is a line under planning, which will connect the districts of Nanshan, Bao'an and Guangming for 30.6 kilometers and 24 stations. Construction is planned to begin in 2023. The first phase of Line 29 has entered Phase V planning, and will run from Hongshuwan South in Nanshan District to Xingdong in Bao'an District, with 10 stations and 11.3 kilometers of track. The line is proposed to use 6 car type B trains.
