The Kamaraj Sagar Dam [1] (also known as Sandynalla reservoir) [2] is in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu state in India. [3] It is located at a distance of 10 km from the Ooty bus stand. [4] It is a picnic spot and a film shooting spot on the slopes of the Wenlock Downs. [5] The dam's storage capacity is 26.6 million cubic meters(MCM) or 0.94 tmc ft. [6]

The Government Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Udhagamandalam, near Coimbatore (Ooty), Tamil Nadu state, India laid out in 1848. The gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 22 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout. It is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department.

Catherine Falls is a double-cascaded waterfall located in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris District, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a major tourist spot, located on the Mettupalayam road branching off at Aravenu. The upper fall drops to the floor, and is the second-highest in the Nilgiri Mountains. The waters from the upper stream of the Kallar River are crossed by the Mettupalayam-Ooty road beyond the mountains in the southwest. The combined height of both falls is about 76 metres (250 ft).

The Amaravathi Dam is a dam constructed across the Amaravathi River. It is located at Amaravathinagar, 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Udumalpet on SH 17 in the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary, Tirupur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The associated Amaravathi Reservoir is 9.31 square kilometres (3.59 sq mi) in area and 33.53 metres (110.0 ft) deep. The dam was built primarily for irrigation and flood control and now also has four megawatts of electrical generating capacity installed. It is notable for the significant population of mugger crocodiles living in its reservoir and catchment basin.

The Kundah Power House is located in the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the biggest electricity generating schemes in Tamil Nadu. The group of peaks Devarbatta, Karaikada, Koulingabetta and Porthimund, all over 2400 Metres ASL drain into two streams, Avalanche and Emerald. Total estimated cost of the Kundah scheme is Rs. 35 44 lakhs. This project is whole of it Canadian Aid under the Colombo Plan Avalanche and Emerald Dams, along with Upper Bhavani, form the major source of water for the Kundah hydro-electric project. The project is a symbol of India-Canada friendship and co-operation. The project was executed by then TNEB Civil engineer R.S. Sankaranarayanan (Retd.), Chennai The Power houses were commissioned from the year 1960 to 1964.

Kalhatti Falls also called as Bird Watcher's Falls is a tourist spot near Ooty, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. These falls are about 13 km (8.1 mi) from Ooty, on the Ooty to Mysore Road or Sigur Ghat Road, It is situated at an elevation of about 1,600 m (5,200 ft) in the Sigur Plateau. This place is rich in bird life. Wild animals such as deer, wild buffalo and sambhar come to drink water. From Kalhatti village the falls can be reached by trekking for 3 km (1.9 mi).

Frog Hill View Point is a tourist spot in Gudalur, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. It is about 12 km from Gudalur on the way of Gudalur-Ooty road.

As the name suggests, the road is an important commercial hub of the town. The most important junction on the road is Charring cross, which is considered to be one of the most important and beautiful places in Ooty. The region adjoining the roadway houses various commercial establishments like Kairali, a Handicrafts Development Corporation of Kerala showroom.

Western Catchment is an area of The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, situated about 20 km from Ooty. The Western Catchment area is protected by the Forest Department, and tourists are not allowed in without permission. Earlier some regional movies were filmed here, but due to environmental protection permission is no longer given.
