Karad railway station is a railway station serving Karad city, in Satara district of Maharashtra State of India. It is under Pune railway division of Central Railway Zone of Indian Railways.

It is located at 596 m above sea level and has three platforms. As of 2018, a single broad gauge railway line exists and at this station, 39 trains stop. Kolhapur Airport is at distance of 76 kilometers. [1]

Karad is a city in Satara district of Indian state of Maharashtra and it is 302 km (180.19 miles) from Mumbai, 74 km From Sangli and 162 km from Pune. It lies at the confluence of Koyna River and the Krishna River known as the "Priti sangam". The two rivers originate at Mahabaleshwar, which is around 100 km from Karad. They diverge at their origin and travel about the same distance to meet again in Karad. The rivers meet exactly head-on, thus forming the letter "T" which is the only head-on confluence in the world. Hence Krishna and Koyna river's confluence is called Preeti Sangam, meaning Confluence of Love. Karad is well known for sugar production and is known as the sugar bowl of Maharashtra owing to the presence of many sugar factories in and around Karad. It is considered an important educational hub in Western Maharashtra due to the presence of many prestigious educational institutes. This place is also known as the resting place (Samadhi) of the first chief minister of Maharashtra Shri. Yashwantrao Chavan situated at the confluence of the Krishna and Koyana rivers.

17317 / 17318 Hubballi–Dadar Terminus Express is an express train belonging to Indian Railways that links Mumbai with Hubballi in Karnataka. It runs between Dadar Terminus and Hubballi daily and is operated by South Western Railways. This train runs on the LTT Mumbai→Thane→Panvel→Pune→Sangli →Miraj→Belgaum→Londa→Hubli route. Recently there is demand to provide halt at Kirloskarvadi which is a large industrial township between Sangli and Karad stations. The halt is likely to be approved by the Rail Board very soon.

The village is located in the Khatav Tehsil of Satara district in Maharashtra, India. It is 32 km away from the sub-district headquarters of Vaduj, and 54 km away from the district headquarters of Satara.
