LIC Building, Visakhapatnam is an 11-storied commercial building in Visakhapatnam, India. It is located on the Jeevitha Bima Road, opposite to the City Central Park. It was one of the tallest buildings in the city. [3]

About

The LIC Building was one of the first tall structures in Visakhapatnam in the 1970s. At that time, it resembled a light house which was visible from the four corners of the city. Back then, it was a wonder of the city. Many central government offices are located near this building. [4]

Initially built with 12 floors, the LIC Building was the tallest building in India when it was completed in 1959 and was surpassed by Mumbai's first skyscraper, the Usha Kiran Building, in 1961, which is about 80 m (260 ft) high. This park has the first musical fountain of Andhra Pradesh state. It comes under the maintenance and operated by Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

Usha Kiran Building is a residential complex in the neighbourhood of Tardeo in Mumbai, India. At 80 meters, it became the first skyscraper in Mumbai and surpassed the LIC Building in Chennai to become the tallest building in the country and held the title until 1970 when the 35-storied World Trade Center Mumbai was built in South Mumbai.
