The Guyana cricket team represents, originally, the British colony of British Guiana and later the independent state of Guyana.

Guyana's inaugural first-class match (as British Guiana) commenced on 29 August 1895 against Trinidad at Bourda in Georgetown, Guyana, its first List A limited overs match occurred on 13 April 1973 against Jamaica at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados and its first Twenty20 match occurred on 21 July 2006 against Montserrat at Stanford Cricket Ground, Saint George Parish, Antigua and Barbuda. The Guyana national cricket team is the representative first class cricket team of Guyana. The side does not take part in any international competitions, but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50), and the best players may be selected for the West Indies team, which plays international cricket. Guyana has participated in the South American Cricket Championship for some editions, but were represented by an overage "masters" team. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Wilton St Hill</span> West Indian cricketer

Wilton H. St Hill was a West Indian international cricketer who played in West Indies' first Test match during their inaugural Test tour of England. A right-handed batman who played in a variety of batting positions, he represented Trinidad in first-class cricket between 1912 and 1930 and played in three Test matches in total. Although his Test record was poor, he was highly regarded in Trinidad. In particular, writer C. L. R. James considered St Hill to be among the top batsmen in the world and dedicated a chapter of Beyond a Boundary to him. Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies. It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017.

In the sport of cricket, the West Indies is a sporting confederation of fifteen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and territories, many of which historically formed the British West Indies. It consists of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States Virgin Islands. The governing body for the confederation is Cricket West Indies (CWI), which is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC); beneath the CWI are six territorial governing bodies covering different nations and regions of the confederation. The CWI organises the West Indies cricket team, which represents the confederation in international cricket, as well as administering domestic cricket competitions across the West Indies.

Johnson Charles is a St Lucian international cricketer who plays for the West Indies. As a wicket-keeper-batsman, Charles started his ODI career against Australia in March 2012. His first T20I came against England in September 2011, and he became just the second cricketer from the island of St Lucia to play for the West Indies. Johnson was included in the West Indies' 15-man squad for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 held in September and October that year, where the team won the tournament. Charles was also a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup.

Shemaine Altia Campbelle is a Guyanese cricketer who plays as an all-rounder and occasional wicket-keeper. She plays internationally for the West Indies and domestic cricket for Guyana and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The Grenada national cricket team represents the country of Grenada in cricket. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council, but the Grenada Cricket Association is a member of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control, which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board, and players from Grenada generally represent the Windward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level. Grenada has however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status, but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket. The team's coach, as of November 2013, is Ricky Williams. The team currently has two captains: Devon Smith, who captains the two-day team, and Andre Fletcher who captains the 20-over team.

The team's captain, as of December 2013, is Liam Sebastien.

Brandon Alexander King is a Jamaican cricketer. He was part of the West Indies' squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in November 2019.

Ronsford Rodwick Beaton is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for the Guyanese national side in West Indian domestic cricket, and also for the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He is a right-arm fast bowler.

Romario Shepherd is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in domestic cricket and for West Indies in international cricket. He made his international debut for West Indies in November 2019.

Damodar Daesrath is a former international cricketer who played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Canadian national team. Prior to immigrating to Canada, he represented Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket.

The Montserrat national cricket team is the representative cricket team of the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council, but the Montserrat Cricket Association is a member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board, and players from Montserrat generally represent the Leeward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level. Montserrat has however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status, but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket. The team was previously coached by Abdiel Hughes, who was appointed in April 2012. Their former captain was McPherson Meade.

Chedean Natasha Nation is a Jamaican cricketer who has represented the West Indies internationally. She plays domestic cricket for Jamaica and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Cherry-Ann Sarah Fraser is a Guyanese cricketer who currently plays for Guyana, Guyana Amazon Warriors and the West Indies. Fraser has also represented Guyana in volleyball, playing in the 2019 Inter-Guianas championship.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Guyana women's national cricket team</span>

The Guyana women's national cricket team is the women's representative cricket team of the country of Guyana. They compete in the Women's Super50 Cup and the Twenty20 Blaze.
