Since September 2016, all the visits to Uzbekistan have had the character of working visits. Mostly it was giving honor to the First President Islam Karimov at his burial site. On 16 September 2017, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Uzbekistan with state visit. That was the first state visit hosted by Mirziyoyev in Tashkent. [52]

Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev is an Uzbek politician who has served as President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan since 14 December 2016. Previously, Mirziyoyev led the government as a Prime Minister of Uzbekistan from 2003 to 2016.
The State Anthem of Uzbekistan was officially adopted on 10 December 1991 by the Constitution of Uzbekistan, after gaining independence from the Soviet Union. The lyrics were written by Uzbek poet Abdulla Oripov, set to the melody composed by Soviet Uzbek composer Mutal Burhonov.
Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan relations refers to the bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. Uzbekistan dominates southern Kyrgyzstan both economically and politically, based on the large Uzbek population in that region of Kyrgyzstan and on economic and geographic conditions. Much of Kyrgyzstan depends entirely on Uzbekistan for natural gas; on several occasions, former president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has achieved political ends by shutting pipelines or by adjusting terms of delivery.
The Republic of Uzbekistan has an embassy in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan has an embassy in Tashkent. Both countries were previously subordinated republics of the Soviet Union as Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic and Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic before its collapse in 1991.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan were established on 21 January 1993, with the Belarusian Embassy in Tashkent being opened in February 1994. Uzbekistan also has an embassy in Minsk.
ZiroatMirziyoyeva, also widely referred to by her maiden name Hoshimova, is the wife of the president of Uzbekistan and first lady of Uzbekistan.

Kuksaroy Presidential Palace, meaning the Blue Palace in English, is currently the official workplace of the President of Uzbekistan. It is located in the northeastern Mirzo Ulugbek District of Tashkent.
Rustam Urmanovich Akhmedov is an Uzbek military officer who has served as first person to hold the post of Minister of Defence of Uzbekistan from September 6, 1991 to September 29, 1997.
The Presidency ofShavkat Mirziyoyev refers to the tenure of Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the 2nd President of Uzbekistan. His term began on 14 December 2016, after serving as prime minister and acting president following the death of his predecessor, Islam Karimov. In accordance with the Constitution of Uzbekistan, his mandate will last until 2030, following his re-election in 2023.
Presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 24 October 2021. This was the sixth presidential election held since independence. Incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev won a second term with a majority 80.1% of the vote, although faring the lowest performance for an incumbent in terms of vote share since 1991. Maqsuda Vorisova from the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (XDP) was the runner-up and Alisher Qodirov from the Uzbekistan National Revival Democratic Party came third, which marked the first time that more than two candidates had officially received more than 5% of the vote.
Major General Pavel Ismailovich Ergashev is an Uzbek military leader who is a Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan. He was appointed to this position on 11 January 2018 and was dismissed in March 2021. He is the son of former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Ismail Ergashev. He was among 12 high-ranking officials were banned from entering the European Union for a year in November 2005 for their role in putting down the 2005 Andijan unrest. At the time, he was a Colonel who commanded of a detachment of from the Ministry of Defense. On 4 September 2017, he was appointed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the post of Acting Deputy Minister of Defense and commander of the troops of the Southwestern Special Military District.
Zaynab Kazbekovna Dayibekova is an Uzbek fencer. She competed in the women's sabre event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, reaching the quarterfinals.
Bahromjon Torayevich Norqabilov is an Uzbek statesman, head of the State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Early presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 9 July 2023. The early election was called after the approval of the constitutional referendum where term limits were reset and president Shavkat Mirziyoyev can serve two more seven-year terms.
AKFA Group is an industrial holding company specializing in the production of plastic and aluminum profiles, windows, heating systems, and construction materials. It is one of the largest private companies in Uzbekistan, with its headquarters in Tashkent. The company was founded by Jakhongir Artikkhodjaev, who was appointed mayor of Tashkent in 2018.
