Noorita binti Sual (born 28 April 1980) is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as a Senator since March 2023. She served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tenom from May 2018 to November 2022. [1] [2] She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. She is the first Murut female lawyer in Malaysian history.
In the 2013 Sabah state election,Noorita made her electoral debut after being nominated by Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to contest for the Melalap state seat. She lost to Radin Malleh of Barisan Nasional (BN) by a minority of 2,599 votes.
In the 2018 general election,Noorita was nominated by PH to contest for the Tenom federal seat. She won the seat and was elected into Parliament as the Tenom MP after defeating Rubin Balang of BN by majority of 1,108 votes. [3] [4] Her victory also ended the long parliamentary service of BN of Tenom.
In the 2022 general election,Noorita was renominated by PH to defend the Tenom seat. She lost the seat after losing to Riduan Rubin,an independent candidate,member of the Social Democratic Harmony Party (KDM) and son of aforementioned Rubin by a minority of 1,108 votes.
On 20 March 2023,Noorita was appointed as a Senator by Yang di-Pertuan Agong,Al-Sultan Abdullah,alongside Abun Sui Anyit,Anifah Aman,Professor Dr. Awang Sariyan,Isaiah Jacob,Low Kian Chuan,Mohd Hasbie Muda,Mohd Hatta Ramli,Roderick Wong Siew Lead and Sivarraajh Chandran.

The Democratic Action Party is a centre-left social democratic political party in Malaysia. As one of four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition,it formed the federal government after defeating Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 2018 Malaysian general election,ending the party's 53 year-long stay in the opposition. However,before the coalition finished its first term,defections from partnering parties caused it to lose power after 22 months,culminating in the 2020 Malaysian political crisis. At the 2022 Malaysian general election,the PH coalition which the DAP was part of was returned to power again,albeit without a majority,leading it to form a unity government with political rivals. It is one of the four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan ruling coalition in Malaysia.

General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday,9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat,the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. The 2013 Sabah state election was held on Sunday,5 May 2013 concurrently with the 13th Malaysian general election. 60 state seats were contested to elect the state legislature in the Malaysian state of Sabah. This was the 12th state election in Sabah. The state legislative assembly was dissolved on 3 April 2013 following the announcement by Najib Razak to dissolve the federal Parliament earlier on the same day. Michael Teo Yu Keng is a Malaysian politician and gynaecologist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Miri from May 2013 to November 2022. In 2023,he officially became the member of Sabah People's Ideas Party,the main component party of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) along with 7 other parties.

Riduan bin Rubin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tenom from November 2022. He is a former member of the Social Democratic Harmony Party (KDM) and was a former member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party of Sabah,a former component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition and official component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) in national level. He is formerly one of the two KDM MPs along with Wetrom Bahanda and one of the two independent candidates who was elected in the 2022 general election along with Kudat MP Verdon Bahanda. He is also the son of Rubin Balang,the Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kemabong and the Vice President II of Sabah People's Ideas Party.
