Brynmawr is a market town, community and electoral ward in Blaenau Gwent, Wales. The town, sometimes cited as the highest town in Wales, is situated at 1,250 to 1,500 feet above sea level at the head of the South Wales Valleys. It grew with the development of the coal mining and iron industries in the early 19th century. Until the reorganisation of local authorities in 1974, Brynmawr was administered as part of the county of Brecknockshire.
Chirk is a town and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, 10 miles south of Wrexham, between it and Oswestry. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 4,468. Historically in the traditional county of Denbighshire, and later Clwyd, it has been part of Wrexham County Borough since a local government reorganisation in 1996. The border with the English county of Shropshire is immediately south of the town, on the other side of the River Ceiriog.

It is a popular coastal seaside resort, with around 2,600 residents, on the east-facing south coast of the Llŷn Peninsula at the southern terminus of the A499. It is situated on the main A496 coast road between Harlech and Barmouth. The ward had a population of 1,540 according to the 2011 census.
Gwernaffield, also known as Gwernaffield-y-Waun, is a village and electoral ward in Flintshire, Wales. It lies about three miles west of Mold on the eastern side of the Clwydian Range. The village is part of the community of Gwernaffield with Pantymwyn, which has an area of 7.53 km2 and is bordered by the River Alyn on three sides. The community includes the neighbouring village of Pantymwyn and had a population of 1,851 at the time of the 2001 census, increasing to 1,942 at the 2011 census. The name of the village comes from gwern, feld and gwaun. Gwernaffield, which adjoins Pantymwyn, Itself had a population of around 900.
Rhosybol is a village and community in Anglesey, Wales. The community population at the 2011 census was 1,078. Located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of the town of Amlwch, the village is close to both Llyn Alaw, the largest body of water on the island, and Parys Mountain, the site of the historic copper mines which lies just to the north. It is to the mines that the village owes its existence as it was one of several built to house the miners. During the 1960s noted painter Kyffin Williams produced an oil painting of the village.
