Poona Football Association (PDFA) is an organisation that governs the football in and around the Indian city of Pune. It is one of the district associations of the Western India Football Association, affiliated to the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The PDFA organises Pune Football League, overlooking promotion and development of football in the district of Pune.

The TRNA INDIA Pune Football League is an organized competitions overseen by the Poona District Football Association in Pune District of Maharashtra. [1] It follows a ladder-based structure and includes four divisions with over 100 teams. [2] The league encompasses teams from various locations across Pune District, the city of Pune, spanning from Pimpri-Chinchwad to Hadapsar. [3] [4]

History

The Poona District Football Association came into inception from the year 1972 with motive of promoting, developing and popularising the game of football at grass root level. It was heard that football lovers like Robert Gabriell, Benjamin Fernandes and many more contributed in running the association for years in the Poona region and this continued till we formally launched to form the Poona District Football Association in the most concrete manner from the year 2006 under the Leadership of President – Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam. At present there are more that 230+ teams & nearly 5000+ players registers with PDFA, which is spread across 4 divisions of Boys’ Teams ( Super Division, First Division, Second Division and Third division Teams ), Women's Division Teams and Under age group teams. These 230+ teams play Pune District football league. The total of more than 1000 matches are conducted year round. [5]
