The R-7 Expressway is a proposed expressway in Metro Manila, Philippines that will be partially elevated and partially underground expressway. The project will be constructed over the most heavily congested corridors in Metro Manila, namely Quezon Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. The expressway will be connecting Quezon City and the City of Manila with high speed transport facility, thus decongest traffic of at-grade road. It might be implemented in 2016–2018. The project is believed to cost PhP 23.980 billion (US$532.89 million). [1] [2]

It connects the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) by going above the existing alignment of some major thoroughfares in Metro Manila. It stretches from NLEx in the north to Alabang–Zapote Road in the south and crosses through the highly urbanized areas of Caloocan, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Parañaque and Muntinlupa while relieving major thoroughfares from heavy traffic.

Spanning some 32.5 kilometers (20.2 mi), it connects the cities of Las Piñas, Makati, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, Taguig, and Valenzuela.

Radial Road 8

Radial Road 8, more commonly referred to as R-8, is a network of roads and bridges that altogether form the eighth radial road of Manila in the Philippines. It runs north-south through northern Metro Manila linking the City of Manila with Quezon City, Caloocan, and Valenzuela into the northern provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, and La Union. The portion of R-8 between Guiguinto and Balintawak is also designated a component of the Pan-Philippine Highway network (AH26). It also has a spur segment in Quirino Highway from NLEX to its junction with R-7 at Commonwealth Avenue, both in Quezon City.

Circumferential Road 3 (C-3), informally known as C-3 Road, is a network of roads and bridges that all together form the third beltway of Metro Manila in the Philippines. Spanning some 32.5 kilometers (20.2 mi), it connects the cities of Caloocan, Makati, Navotas, Pasay, Quezon City, and San Juan.

Transportation in Metro Manila

The transportation system in Metro Manila is currently inadequate to accommodate the mobility and other basic needs of an densely populated metropolis, the result of many factors and problems that the government has failed to provide or address. Metro Manila exists in a state of near-permanent gridlock, with people and goods trapped by the very system that is supposed to move them quickly and efficiently. Because of the insufficient public transportation network, car ownership has risen dramatically, contributing further to the congestion that occurs at all times of day on the road. Filipinos view cars as not just tools to get them to where they need to go; they also believe that their car is an important symbol of the success they have achieved in life. In recent years, however, the Philippine government has been pushing to improve the mass transit system through various infrastructure projects, hoping to solve the interlinked problems of transportation, land use and environment.

Quezon Avenue

Manuel L. Quezon Avenue, more often called as Quezon Avenue, or simply Quezon Ave, is a 7.1-kilometer (4.4 mi), six-to-fourteen lane, major thoroughfare in Metro Manila named after President Manuel Luis Quezon, the second president of the Philippines. The avenue starts at the Quezon Memorial Circle and runs through to the Welcome Rotonda near the boundary of Quezon City and Manila.

Mindanao Avenue

Mindanao Avenue is an eight-to-ten lane divided avenue connecting EDSA and NLEX and is a part of Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) in Metro Manila, Philippines. It is one of the three parallel roads that connects Tandang Sora and Congressional Avenues ; that is why it was named after the southernmost mainland of the Philippines, Mindanao. It used to be a 2-kilometer (1.2 mi) highway connecting North Avenue and Congressional Avenue, but as a part of the C-5 projects, Mindanao Avenue was extended to EDSA in the south and to Quirino Highway to the north. The new roads opened in 2000.

The Metro Manila Skybridge, also referred to as the San Juan River Expressway, was a proposed elevated highway over the San Juan River which will serve as an alternative road in the place of EDSA, the main beltway of Metro Manila, Philippines. The proposed length of the elevated highway would be 8.3 km, from E. Rodriguez, Sr. Avenue in Quezon City to Kalayaan Avenue in Makati. The proposal would have cost of around ₱11 billion at the time it was first proposed in 2013.

Radial Road 7 is a network of roads in Metro Manila, connecting the cities of Manila, Quezon City and Caloocan, as well as San Jose del Monte and the municipality of Norzagaray in the province of Bulacan. The road is one of 10 radial roads in Metro Manila that connect the City of Manila with various provinces.

Circumferential Road 6

Circumferential Road 6, commonly referred to as C-6, is a 34.24-kilometre (21.28 mi), 6 lane, network of roads and bridges that altogether would form the sixth and outermost beltway of Manila in the Philippines.

Congressional Avenue is a 6-kilometer (3.7 mi) highway located in Quezon City, Philippines, which spans from six lanes. It is one of the secondary roads in Metro Manila and part of it is designated as part of Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) of the Manila arterial road system and National Route 129 (N129) of the Philippine highway system.

E1 expressway (Philippines)
