Romanov is a brand of vodka manufactured and marketed by United Spirits, a subsidiary of United Breweries Group. The brand derives its name from the Romanov dynasty that ruled the Russian Empire from 1612 to 1917. It has a two-star rating from the International Taste and Quality Institute. It contains 42.8% alcohol by volume. [1] [2] [3]

Sales

Romanov is one of the cheapest vodkas available in India, and thus it is popular in low-cost clubs and with college students. Along with White Mischief, Romanov controls 70% of India's domestic market for vodka, [6] which increased to 89% in 2010. [4] From 2008 to 2017, sales of Romanov's unflavoured vodkas decreased by more than 50%, while flavoured vodka sales increased more than tenfold. [7]

It is the world's leading producer of soju, accounting for more than half of that beverage's domestic sales. It also manufactures a variety of other alcoholic beverages including red wine and whiskey. Distilleries are located in Icheon, Cheongwon, and Masan, with the Masan plant geared toward exports. In addition, Jinro produces the Soksu brand of bottled water at a factory in Cheongwon. In 2006, the company was acquired by Hite, a popular beverage company whose main product is beer.

It is Pernod Ricard's best selling brand by volume. It is a blend of grain spirits and imported Scotch malts. It is commonly available in 1 L, 750 mL, 375 mL and 180 mL bottles and also available in 90 mL and 60 mL bottles. The brand is named after a species of deer famous for its antlers, that is also featured in its logo. It is produced in several company-owned as well as bottler-owned distilleries. It was the first whisky brand launched in India that did not use any artificial flavours.

Rakı or raki, is an alcoholic beverage made of twice-distilled grape pomace and flavored with aniseed. It is the national drink of Turkey. It is popular in many Mediterranean countries and is often served as an apéritif or with seafood or meze. It is comparable to several other anise-flavored liqueurs such as pastis, ouzo, sambuca, arak and aguardiente. The alcoholic content of raki must be at least 40%. The largest producer of Raki is Diageo; Yeni Raki is the largest brand.
