Vintage Props and Jets was a commuter airline based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The airline provided daily flights between selected cities in Florida and The Bahamas.
Vintage Props and Jets had been in business as a scheduled airline since 1991, more than most carriers between Florida and the Bahamas. Vintage Props and Jets also maintained a repair station at New Smyrna Beach Airport that specialized in Beechcraft equipment. The carrier also provided aircraft management for individuals owning Beechcraft King Air 100 & 200 series equipment; but its core operations remained the scheduled airline service. The airline started looking for ways to increase revenues during the off-season and embarked on adding west-coast Florida operations in 2007, which included Naples, Key West, and Tampa. The carrier also bid on EAS markets in an attempt to help increase overall flying. In the summer of 2008, Vintage had wet leased an Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet from ExpressJet Airlines to operate select Saturday-only services between Daytona Beach, Ft Lauderdale, and Jacksonville to and from Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay in the Bahamas.
The airline had bid for EAS services between Athens, Georgia; Macon, Georgia; Atlanta, Georgia and Sanford/Orlando, Florida. [1]
On July 18, 2008, Vintage Props and Jets ceased operations and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as it struggled with rising fuel costs & aircraft maintenance expenses.

Western Air is the largest privately owned airline in The Bahamas. Western Air is headquartered at the San Andros International Airport on Andros Island, Bahamas. The airline was established in 2001 by the husband-and-wife team, Rex J. Rolle and Shandrice Woodside- Rolle. Currently, Mr. and Mrs. Rolle serve as President & CEO and Vice President & COO respectively. Their daughter, Sherrexcia 'Rexy' Rolle, is an aviation attorney and serves as Vice President of Operations and General Counsel. Western Air has two major hubs inclusive of private passenger terminals, full service aircraft maintenance facilities and corporate offices located at San Andros International Airport and the second hub at Grand Bahama International Airport, which serves as its northern hub. The airline conducts a minimum of 40 flights daily throughout the Bahamas and has plans of opening new international routes from the Bahamas Haiti, Jamaica, Turks & Caicos, and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida. The airline operates a mixed fleet of Embraer EMB 145 jet aircraft and Saab 340As. Western Air's fleet increased with the publicized multi-aircraft deal for EMB 145s jets in 2018. The airline is slated to acquire additional jets in 2019 and 2020 to assist with growing airlift demands.
Yellow Air Taxi was an air taxi airline based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It operated on-demand passenger services in the Southeast, Florida, the Caribbean and, the Bahamas. YAT grew from a small operation out of Pompano Beach to a fleet of four Cessna 402Cs, all painted in yellow with a white/black checkerboard tail. The carrier had some issues with the US DOT, bordering on offering scheduled service as a charter airline. Once legal to fly more than four flights a week, YAT expanded to Naples & Key West, along with offering three flights a day to Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay from Ft. Lauderdale. Miami service was attempted in 2009. YAT started being affected by the high-seasonality of both the Florida Keys and Bahamas and the carrier relinquished their scheduled authority in 2009. Yellow Air Taxi has since gone out of business. On February 18, 2011, an involuntary petition for liquidation under Chapter 7 was filed against Friendship Airways Inc.
Chautauqua Airlines, Inc., was an American regional airline and a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings based in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Prior to the shut down of operations, it operated scheduled passenger services to 52 airports in the United States and Canada via code sharing agreements as the Delta Connection for Delta Air Lines and AmericanConnection for American Airlines. Chautauqua previously flew feeder services for other airlines as well via code sharing agreements. Its last day in operation was December 31, 2014, at which time all flying was absorbed by the Shuttle America certificate.
Gulfstream International Airlines was a United States airline that operated from 1988 to 2010. The airline primarily operated codeshare flights for major airlines. In December 2010, the airline went bankrupt and its assets were sold. Silver Airways launched as a new regional carrier with assets from Gulfstream.
Intrastate airlines in the U.S. are defined as air carriers operating inside of one individual state and thus not flying across state lines. Larger intrastate airlines in the U.S. that operated mainline turboprop and/or jet aircraft were created as a result of past federal airline regulations as passenger air carriers that only flew intrastate service were not regulated by the federal government but were instead primarily regulated by the respective state governments in their home states. For example, Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) and Air California were both regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) prior to the federal Airline Deregulation Act of 1978. Intrastate air carriers primarily operated in the United States but also elsewhere globally. In the U.S., California, Florida, Hawaii and Texas had scheduled jet passenger service operated by intrastate air carriers in the past.
