The 1985 RAC Trimoco British Saloon Car Championship was the 28th season of the championship. Andy Rouse won his third consecutive BSCC championship in a Ford Sierra, making it a record four titles in total.

Championship Standings

Drivers' Championship

Points were awarded on a 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis to the top six finishers in each class, with one bonus point for the fastest lap in each class. In races where a class had less than four starters, points would be awarded to the top two finishers (6 & 4 respectively) with one point for the fastest lap. A driver's best nine scores counted towards the championship, dropped scores are shown in brackets. Positions are shown as overall/class.

Simon Harrison is a British racing driver. He won two National Saloon Car Championships in 1994 and 1999, as well as the Production Class of the British Touring Car Championship in 2001.

The 1965 BRSCC British Saloon Car Championship, was the eighth season of the championship. The title was won by Roy Pierpoint in a Ford Mustang, competing in his debut season.

The 1969 BRSCC British Saloon Car Championship, was the twelfth season of the championship. The title was won by Alec Poole in a Mini Cooper S.

The 1973 RAC British Saloon Car Championship was the 16th season of the championship. Frank Gardner became the second driver to win three BTCC titles, driving a Chevrolet Camaro.

The 1975 RAC Southern Organs British Saloon Car Championship was the 18th season of the championship. The title was won by Andy Rouse, driving a Triumph Dolomite Sprint.

The 1977 RAC Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship was the 20th season of the championship. Bernard Unett won his third drivers title with a Chrysler Avenger GT.

The 1978 RAC Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship was the 21st season of the British Saloon Car Championship. It was the first year that the championship was sponsored by Tricentrol. The drivers title was won by Richard Longman in a Mini 1275 GT, and was the first to be won by a Mini driver since 1969.

The 1979 RAC Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship was the 22nd season of the championship. Richard Longman successfully defended his drivers title with his Mini 1275 GT.

The 1984 RAC Trimoco British Saloon Car Championship was the 27th season of the championship. The title was won by Andy Rouse in a Rover Vitesse, claiming his third BSCC title.

The 1986 RAC British Saloon Car Championship was the 29th season of the championship, and the final under the name of The British Saloon Car Championship. Chris Hodgetts won the title with his class C Toyota Corolla.

Neil McGrath is a former British racing driver. He regularly competed in the British Saloon Car Championship. In 1985 he finished seventh overall and third in Class A. The cars he used were the Renault 5, Austin Metro and Rover Vitesse. He won the Renault 5 championship in 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1978. David Brodie is a British auto racing driver. He is best known for his time competing in the British Touring Car Championship. His best season in the BTCC was in 1985, finishing fourth overall on points.

Roger Dowson Engineering, also known as RD Motorsport, is an automotive engineering company, and an auto racing team run by Roger Dowson. The company was founded in 1982, and was most notable for running the works MG Metros in the British Saloon Car Championship in 1983 and the works Mazda teams in the British Touring Car Championship from 1992 until 1994.
