The 2025 World Men's Curling Championship (66th) (branded as the 2025 BKT Tires World Men's Curling Championship for sponsorship reasons) will be held from March 29 to April 6 at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. [1] It will be the fourth World Men's Championship held in Saskatchewan and the third World Championship held in Moose Jaw, succeeding the 1979 World Junior Curling Championships and the 1983 Pioneer Life World Women's Curling Championship. [2]

Contents

The format for the Championship will feature a thirteen team round robin. The top six teams will qualify for the playoff round where the top two teams received a bye while the remaining four played in the qualification round to qualify for the semifinals. [3]

Qualification

Thirteen curling federations qualified to participate in the 2025 World Men's Curling Championship. Of note, Austria qualified for the first time since 2002, [4] while China returned for the first time since 2021. [5]

The 2022 World Men's Curling Championship was held from April 2 to April 10 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, United States. Team Sweden, skipped by Niklas Edin, was the defending championship team. The 2022 WMCC trialed the no-tick rule for the first time at a men's tournament at this level.

The 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from April 23 to 30 at the Curling Club Trois-Chêne in the Geneva Sous-Moulin Sports Center in Thônex, a suburb of Geneva, Switzerland. The 2023 World Men's Curling Championship was held from April 1 to 9 at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Ottawa was selected as the host site in June 2022. It had originally been planned for the city to host the event in 2021, but the event was moved to the "Calgary bubble" due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first time Ottawa hosted the men's Worlds.

The 2024 World Women's Curling Championship (45th) was held March 16 to 24 at Centre 200 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was the first World Women's Championship held in Nova Scotia and the third held in Atlantic Canada with the 1999 and 2014 championships taking place in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The 2024 Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from March 24 to 30 at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This was the second year in a row the event was held in Moose Jaw.

The 2024 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships qualify European curling teams for the 2025 World Curling Championships. The A and B division competitions were held from November 16 to 23, with the A division being held at the Kisakallio Sport Institute in Lohja, Finland, and the B division being held at the Östersund Curling Club in Östersund, Sweden. The C division competition was held from April 28 to May 4 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland.

The 2024 Korean Curling Championships,, Korea's national curling championships, were held from June 9 to 17 at the Uijeongbu Curling Stadium in Uijeongbu, South Korea. The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides became the Korean National Teams for the 2024–25 curling season. They will represent Korea at the 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships, the 2025 Asian Winter Games and later the 2025 World Curling Championships. Both the men's and women's events were played in a round robin format which qualified four teams for the page playoffs.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships</span> Annual curling tournament

The 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships were held from October 27 to November 2 at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex and the Lacombe Curling Club in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. The event was used to qualify teams for the 2025 World Curling Championships. Both men's and women's events consisted of an A Division and B Division.

The 2025 World Women's Curling Championship (46th) will be held from March 15 to 23 at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Rink in Uijeongbu, South Korea. It will be the first international curling event held in Uijeongbu and the second World Women's Championship held in Korea as Gangneung hosted the 2009 championship.

The 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship, will be held from February 14 to 23 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The winning team will represent Canada at the 2025 World Women's Curling Championship at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Rink in Uijeongbu, South Korea.

The 2025 Montana's Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, will be held from February 28 to March 9 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia. The winning team will represent Canada at the 2025 World Men's Curling Championship at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
