Buck House was a gallery on Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood of Manhattan's Upper East Side. The gallery opened in November 2001 and was owned and operated by artist Deborah Buck. [1]
The gallery displayed and sold art and design objects, said to be among the “finest examples of design from the 19th century to the present.” [2]
In 2006, Buck House launched a second space nearby, called The Gallery at Buck House. This exhibition space hosted fine art exhibitions, book release parties, and events to benefit charitable organizations. [3]
In September 2009, Buck House closed its two locations in favor of a larger space on Madison Avenue, which combined both The Gallery at Buck House and Buck House under one roof. In a 2010 interview, Buck claimed that “the idea was to create a meeting place and a salon like those in 1920s Paris.” [4] In September 2012 Buck House closed its gallery, but continued on the internet.
Trained as a painter and set designer, Deborah's style is reflected in the grouping of objects at Buck House. [5] Buck originated the concept for 'Buck House Moments': a series of curated still-life photographs including antiques, fine art and floral arrangements. An eclectic assemblage of objects, or tableaux, highlight shared formal characteristics between objects and design a moment in the world of Buck House. [6] Exhibitions, revolving window displays, and tableaux developed at Buck House have inspired books such as Tableau and Fictional Females of Buck House and allow the public to explore, appreciate and interpret design in everyday life.
In 2013 she published The Windows of Buck House ; Fabulous, Fictional Females to great acclaim. [7]
The Walker Art Center is a multidisciplinary contemporary art center in the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. James DeWoody is an American painter, printmaker, and sculptor who has worked in New York City since 1972. He was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, but grew up in Texarkana, Texas. He received his BA degree in English and Studio Art from Tulane University in 1967. DeWoody received his MFA degree from Pratt Institute in 1975 in painting, new forms, and art history, studying under George McNeil.
Colette Justine, better known as Colette Lumiere, is a Tunisian-American multimedia artist. She has been well known since the seventies for her pioneering work in performance art, street art, and photographic tableau vivant. She is also known for her work exploring male and female gender roles, use of guises and personas, and for soft fabric environments, where she often appears as the central element.
Jeremiah Goodman was an illustrator who signed his work with his first name only. Goodman used his unique painting style to create the essence of a building's interior. His painting interprets the plans of both architects and interior designers. He painted original portraits of spaces for both commercial and private clients. For almost twenty years he created the covers for Interior Design magazine, and also books on interiors and for murals.
The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) is a design museum located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is billed as “the only museum in the Southeast devoted exclusively to the study and celebration of all things design."

Francis Sultana is a furniture and interior designer. He is regularly featured in the annual AD100 list compiled by Architectural Digest. The Times says he is "a furniture designer and decorating mastermind" and also mentions his famous clients. Financial TimesHow To Spend It magazine said "his baroque-meets-pop art style is making grand statements in an ever-widening circle of homes." Living Etc magazine describes Sultana's style as "luxurious, bespoke-driven and sumptuous". In 2018 Sultana was made Ambassador of Culture for Malta. He was named as one of the Top 20 interior designers by Wallpaper magazine and Top 100 Interior Designers by House & Garden magazine. The Financial Times said of his first hotel project La Palma Hotel, Capri for Oetker Collection that it is "a glamorous new start for Capri's oldest hotel ". In 2021 Sultana became custodian of The Hunting Lodge, the former home of British interior designers John Fowler and Nicky Haslam. ". As well as running his own atelier, Sultana is also CEO of David Gill Gallery ".
945 Madison Avenue, also known as the Breuer Building, is a museum building in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The Marcel Breuer-designed structure was built to house the Whitney Museum of American Art; it subsequently held a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art followed by the temporary quarters to the Frick Collection. In 2024 the Frick will relocate and the building will become headquarters to the international auction house Sotheby's.

In America: An Anthology of Fashion is the 2022 high fashion art exhibition of the Anna Wintour Costume Center, a wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA) which houses the collection of the Costume Institute. It is the piece of a two-part exhibit that explores fashion in the United States. This exhibit highlights stylistic narratives and histories of the American Wing Period. Each immersive period rooms reflect America from the 1700s to the 1970s and captures men's and women's fashion. The rooms also display America's domestic life and the influences of cultures, politics, and style at each period.
