Craig Hill is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York east-southeast of Delhi. Calhoun Hill is located east, Bryden Mountain is located north, and Scotch Mountain is located west-northwest of Craig Hill.
Craig County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,892. Its county seat is New Castle.
Wells is a town in Hamilton County, New York, United States. The population was 674 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Joshua Wells, a land agent, who built the first mills in the area. It is in the Adirondack Park and on the eastern border of the county. It is northwest of Schenectady.
Mount Mitchell is the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and the highest peak in mainland North America east of the Mississippi River. It is located near Burnsville in Yancey County, North Carolina in the Black Mountain subrange of the Appalachians about 19 miles (31 km) northeast of Asheville. It is protected by Mount Mitchell State Park and surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. Mount Mitchell's elevation is 6,684 feet (2,037 m) above sea level. Mount Mitchell is ranked 31st by topographic isolation.
Craig Pass, is a mountain pass located on the Continental Divide in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. The Grand Loop Road crosses the pass approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of Old Faithful Geyser.
Cadair Berwyn, Cader Berwyn or Craig Uchaf is a mountain summit in north-east Wales with a height of 832 metres (2,730 ft) above sea level. It is the highest point in the Berwyn range, the highest in North East Wales and the highest significant summit in Wales outside the National Parks. Cadair Berwyn and Foel Cedig to the west are the two Marilyns that form the Berwyn range. The undulating plateau of the range also includes a large number of other summits above 2,000 feet (610 m), including satellite summits of Cadair Berwyn and many which are classed as Nuttalls.
The Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area is a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in Virginia as defined by the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The Roanoke MSA is sometimes referred to as the Roanoke Valley, even though the Roanoke MSA occupies a larger area than the Roanoke Valley. It is geographically similar to the area known as the Roanoke Region of Virginia, but while the latter includes Alleghany County, the former does not. As of the 2020 census, the MSA had a population of 315,251.
Black Hills National Forest is located in southwestern South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming, United States. The forest has an area of over 1.25 million acres (5,066 km2) and is managed by the Forest Service. Forest headquarters are located in Custer, South Dakota. There are local ranger district offices in Custer, Rapid City, and Spearfish in South Dakota, and in Sundance, Wyoming.
The Capitol State Forest is a 110,000-acre (450 km2) state forest in Thurston and Grays Harbor counties of the U.S. state of Washington. It includes part of the unusual Mima Mounds geologic feature.
Capitol Peak is a 2,658-foot (810 m) peak in the Black Hills in the U.S. state of Washington. It is one of the two highest peaks in the Black Hills, along with Larch Mountain. Capitol Peak is located in the Capitol State Forest. There is a partially paved road to the summit called the Sherman Valley Road. The summit hosts a communications facility that includes an array of cell phone and radio towers. On a clear day, looking to the west is a view of Elma and the Satsop Nuclear Power Plant. Looking to the east is a view of Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams; more to the north are the Puget Sound, and the Olympia area.
The Hanging Hills of south central Connecticut, United States, are a range of mountainous trap rock ridges overlooking the city of Meriden and the Quinnipiac River Valley 900 feet (274 m) below. They are a subrange of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. The range is also a subrange of the Appalachian Mountains. A popular outdoor recreation resource, the range is known for its microclimate ecosystems, rare plant communities, and expansive views from cliffs that rise abruptly over 700 feet (213 m) above the surrounding landscape. The Hanging Hills encompass the 1,800-acre (7.3 km2) Hubbard Park, designed with the help of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. The 51 mile (80k) Metacomet Trail traverses the range.
Hadley Mountain is a mountain located in the southern Adirondacks in the U.S. state of New York and is the second-highest peak in Saratoga County after neighboring Tenant Mountain. The Hadley Mountain Fire Observation Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 23, 2001 for its role as a Fire lookout tower with the New York State Forest Preserve. Hadley Mountain is the highest of the three peaks that form the West Mountain ridge.
Vly Mountain is a mountain located in the town of Halcott, New York, United States in Greene County. The mountain is part of the Catskill Mountains. Vly Mountain is flanked to the northwest by Bearpen Mountain, to the east by Vinegar Hill, to the northeast by Kipp Hill, and to the southeast by Beech Ridge.
Berlin Mountain is a 2,818-foot-tall (859 m) prominent peak in the Taconic Mountains of western New England and is located adjacent to Massachusetts's border with New York State. It is the highest point in Rensselaer County. The summit and west side of the mountain are located in New York; the east side lies within Williamstown, Massachusetts. The mountain is a bald, notable for its grassy summit and expansive views of the Hudson River Valley to the west. The 37-mile (60 km) Taconic Crest Trail traverses the mountain. Several other hiking trails approach the summit from the east. Much of the upper slopes and summit are within protected conservation land. Historically the lower slopes of the mountain were farmed heavily throughout the 19th Century. In addition to agriculture, there are several remnants of charcoal kilns located on the mountain that produced fuel for iron smelting.
Crum Hill, 2,841 feet (866 m), located in northwest Massachusetts, United States, in the towns of Monroe and Florida, is the highest point in Franklin County. The mountain, part of the Hoosac Range, is crossed by a trail system maintained by a local snowmobile club, the Florida Mountaineers. They maintain a trail map on their website.
Mountain Home Village is an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County, California, United States with a population of 170 full-time residents as of 2010. Mountain Home Village is located along California State Route 38 5.2 miles (8.4 km) north-northeast of Yucaipa. It is located less than a mile east from the Thurman Flats Picnic Area, and the Loch Leven- and Mill Creek Campgrounds are located in the village. It is also where Mill Creek and Mountain Home Creek meets, while other creeks in area includes Skinner Creek, East Fork Mountain Home Creek, and Frustration Creek. The Mentone Boulders is also located nearby, which is a well-known rock-climbing area. It is located in the San Bernardino Mountains, just at the edge of the San Andreas Fault and offers some extraordinary valley views, and on clear days, also views of the City of San Bernardino. There are also numerous hiking trails located by the village. It is located within the San Bernardino National Forest and is surrounded by pine forest. Its elevation is 3600 feet. In 1956, the Christian Church purchased a resort in Mountain Home Village and started the Loch Leven Camp & Retreat Center.
Rum Hill is a mountain located in Central New York Region of New York northwest of the Hamlet of Pierstown. Red House Hill is located southeast, Metcalf Hill is located south, Allen Lake and Mohegan Hill are located north-northwest and Otsego Lake is located east of Rum Hill.
Castor Hill is a 1,483-foot-tall (452 m) mountain in the Tug Hill region of New York. It is located east of Greenboro in Oswego County. In 1927, an 80-foot-tall (24 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. Due to use of aerial detection the tower was closed at the end of the 1970 fire lookout season, and later removed in 1981.
Red Hill is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York east-south of Frost Valley. Woodhull Mountain is located northeast of Red Hill.
Van Loan Hill is a mountain in Greene County, New York. It is located in the Catskill Mountains southwest of Maplecrest. Round Hill is located west, Elm Ridge is located north-northeast, and East Jewett Range is located south of Van Loan Hill.
Leonard Hill is a 2,592-foot-tall (790 m) mountain in Schoharie County, New York. It is located east-southeast of North Blenheim. Safford Hill is located northwest and Hubbard Hill is located southeast of Leonard Hill. In 1948, the Conservation Commission built an 80-foot-tall (24 m) steel fire lookout tower on the mountain. The tower ceased fire watching operations at the end of the 1988 season and was officially closed in early 1989. The tower remains on the summit, but is closed to the public. A local group is planning to restore the tower and reopen it to the public.
