Crystal Brook is a town in the Mid North of South Australia, 197 kilometres north of the capital, Adelaide. It was named after the spring-fed creek next to which it was founded. In 2016 the population of the agricultural town was 1,515. Crystal Brook is the second largest town after the city of Port Pirie in the Southern Flinders Ranges area. The shady peppercorn trees grace the main street, Bowman Street. The area where the present town is now was founded in 1839 by Edward John Eyre who was passing through the region. He named it after the beautiful sparkling clear water and named it 'Chrystal Brook'.

Crystal Lake is an organized hamlet within the Rural Municipality (RM) of Keys No. 303 in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is also recognized as part of a designated place by Statistics Canada. The organized hamlet is on the majority of the shores of Crystal Lake, 1.0 km (0.62 mi) west of Highway 9 and approximately 70 km (43 mi) north of the City of Yorkton. The second part of the designated place is on the balance of the shores of Crystal Lake within the adjacent RM of Buchanan No. 304.

John Brooks was an English professional footballer and manager who played for Reading, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Brentford, Crystal Palace in the Football League. Brooks won three England caps and scored two goals. Towards the end of his career he played in non-league football with Stevenage Town and Cambridge City and in North America with Cleveland Stokers. He later player-managed Knebworth. His son Shaun Brooks also had a career in professional football.

It included at its inception the government town of Booyoolie, North Gladstone, Laura and Stone Hut. It was divided into five wards, each electing one councillor. In September 1876, the council decided to construct a council office and chamber at Laura.
