Discovery Channel Hungary is a Hungarian television channel.
Discovery Channel began broadcasting to Hungary in 1997. The Hungarian version was launched on 1 March 2005. [1] [2] [3] [4] Advertising sales are handled by R-Time, which is owned by RTL.
Along with the other Discovery channels in Central Europe, Discovery Hungary adopted the new Discovery logo on 1 July 2009. [5]
The Attraktor, the first Hungarian-made programme on the channel, was first shown on 14 November 2014 in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. The show had been formerly aired on the news website Index.hu which now produces the series. [6]

The Seuso Treasure or Sevso Treasure, is a hoard of silver objects from the late Roman Empire. The first pieces appeared on the market in London in 1980, and the treasure was acquired by a consortium headed by Spencer Compton, 7th Marquess of Northampton. Documentation was provided in which it was stated that it had been found in the Tyre and Sidon regions of Lebanon. It was put up for sale in New York City in 1990 by Sotheby's, but was halted when the documentation was found to be false, and the governments of Hungary, Yugoslavia and Lebanon made claims of ownership. The claims of ownership by these countries were rejected by a US court, and the treasure remained in the possession of the Marquess of Northampton. Scotland Yard still has an open case on the matter.
Discovery Turbo is a pay television channel devoted to programming about transport. It is similar to Discovery Velocity and Motor Trend. It was also briefly available as an on-demand service in the US in the late 2000s.

Antal Dunai, also known as Dunai II is a Hungarian former footballer with Yugoslav origins. He became a first division player at Pécsi Dózsa, but he spent the majority of his career at Újpesti Dózsa from 1965 to 1977, when he moved to Debreceni VSC. He played 31 games and scored 9 goals for the Hungary national team. He is most famous for his participation in the gold medal winning Hungarian team on the 1968, and silver medal winning national team on the 1972 Olympics.

Kornél Mundruczó is a Hungarian film and theatre director. He has directed 19 short and feature films between 1998 and 2021. His film Johanna was screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. The production of White God, another of his full-length films, was supported by the Hungarian Film Fund. It won the Prize Un Certain Regard at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and was screened in the Spotlight section of Sundance Film Festival in 2015.
