Club MTV, formerly MTV Dance, is a European pay television music channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA that was separated from the UK channel on 27 May 2014. [1] It broadcasts electronica, dance and r'n'b music programming. The channel is widely available throughout Europe.

History

The channel was launched as MTV Dance on 27 May 2014

On 2 August 2015, it was removed from Sky Italia.

On 1 October 2017, MTV Dance ceased broadcasting in Benelux. [2]

On 4 October 2018, the channel was removed on Numericable along with MTV Rocks following Comedy Central France launch.

In 2019, the channel disappeared in Portugal.

The channel was rebranded as Club MTV from 1 June 2020. VIMN EMEA applied for a new licence for the channel on 7 April 2020. [3]

On 1 March 2021, Club MTV expanded its broadcast area to the Middle East and North Africa through beIN Network. [4]

On 1 July 2021, Club MTV ceased broadcasting in Russia and CIS countries. [5]

Format

Club MTV has been broadcasting the format of the British music channel Clubland TV. Unlike Clubland TV, Club MTV doesn't have any announcements or commercial advertising.

The Music Factory

The Music Factory (TMF) was an originally Dutch brand of television and radio channels operated focusing on pop music. It was similar to the American MTV which took over TMF in 2001.

MTV (European TV channel) Pan-European pay TV network

MTV is a pan-global pay television network launched on 1 August 1987. Initially, the channel served all regions within Europe being one of the very few channels that targeted the entire European continent. Today, the channel only serves a selection of European countries as ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA began to regionalise its network in 1997.

ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia (EMEAA) is a division of ViacomCBS Networks International. Launched as MTV Networks Europe (MTVNE) in 1987, with two offices in London and Amsterdam. At the moment the unit's main headquarters are in Madrid, with additional offices in Lisbon, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Dubai, Johannesburg & Lagos, Budapest, Warsaw, Singapore, Moscow, Stockholm, Tokyo, Beijing, Manila, Copenhagen, Prague, Helsinki, Hong Kong SAR.

Clubland TV is a British free-to-air Dance music channel. It is based from the Clubland compilation albums. Clubland TV airs various sub-genres of dance/EDM from the 90's to the present, such as electronica, techno, trance, eurodance, house, garage, K-pop & dance-pop.

Viva was a British free-to-air music television channel owned by Viacom International Media Networks Europe. The channel launched on 25 September 2009, replacing TMF, and ceased broadcasting on 1 March 2018.

Club MTV was a 24-hour electronic dance music channel operated by ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia launched on 20 April 2001. Available in the United Kingdom and Ireland on subscription satellite and digital television services. The channel played dance, EDM, trance, house, rave, club, Eurodance and sometimes urban music. The channel, along with MTV OMG and MTV Rocks closed on 20 July 2020, with a chart based on the channel's former content airing on MTV Base. "High on Life" by Martin Garrix featuring Bonn was the last music video played on the channel.

MTV 90s is an international music television channel from ViacomCBS Networks International featuring music videos from the 1990s. MTV 90s replaced MTV Rocks in Europe, on 5 October 2020 at 05:00 CET. This channel is available in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and North Asia.
