Miss International Indonesia is one of the beauty pageant title by Puteri Indonesia Org. , the winners of Puteri Indonesia will represent Indonesia in one of the oldest Big Four international beauty pageants, Miss International. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Indonesia start its debut in pageantry on 1960. The first pageant appointing Indonesia's delegates to this contest was Miss Java held on 1960, 1968, and 1969. In the early 1970s the founder of Beauty Salon "Andy's Beauty", Mrs. Andi Nurhayati together with 7th Governor of Jakarta Special Capital Region, Mr. Ali Sadikin took off the franchise.
Due to its absence regarding the governmental regulation towards pageantry from 1978 to 2006, Andi's Beauty loses its franchise to Miss International Pageant and is moving to Puteri Indonesia, a national pageant held by Mustika Ratu; Indonesia's oldest and biggest cosmetics herbal company. Began in 2007, Puteri Indonesia select Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2006 to Miss International 2007 and Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2007-2022 and 2024 to Miss International 2008-2022 and 2024. In 2023, the winner of Puteri Indonesia represented Indonesia on Miss International Beauty Pageants. Since 2024, Puteri Indonesia Org stated that the international competition for Top 4 Puteri Indonesia will be decided after the final night. The president-owner of Puteri Indonesia are The Highest Royal Family of Surakarta Sunanate, Mooryati Soedibyo and Putri Kuswisnuwardhani. [6] The 24th Miss International Indonesia is Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2024, Sophie Kirana of D.I Yogyakarta who was crowned on 8 March 2023 at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia. Puteri Indonesia is a national beauty pageant in Indonesia. Puteri Indonesia is traditionally held in March, alongside the celebration of International Women's Day. The pageant annually sends its winner to represent the country at Miss International, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. The pageant also sends representatives for Miss Supranational, Miss Charm, and Miss Cosmo pageants.

Elfin Pertiwi Rappa is an Indonesian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2014, and represented Indonesia at the Miss International 2014 pageant and achieve a Top 10 position and won Best National Costume.
Puteri Indonesia 2017, the 21st Puteri Indonesia pageant was held on March 31, 2017, at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. Kezia Warouw, Puteri Indonesia 2016 of North Sulawesi crowned her successor Bunga Jelitha of Jakarta Special Capital Region 5 at the end of the event. All 38 contestants from 33 provinces competed for the crown. The winner will represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2017, while the runners-up will compete at the Miss International 2017, Miss Supranational 2017, and Miss Grand International 2017. Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere of France and Miss Grand International 2016 Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia attend at the Grand Final Show. Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova of Canada also attended the show as a judge.
Putri Indonesia 2018, the 22nd Puteri Indonesia pageant, was held on March 9, 2018 at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia. Bunga Jelitha, Puteri Indonesia 2017 of Jakarta SCR 5, crowned her successor, Sonia Fergina Citra of Bangka Belitung, at the end of the event. She defeated 38 other candidates to win the title of Miss Universe Indonesia 2018 and represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2018, where she placed as one of the Top 20 finalists.
Puteri Indonesia 2019, the 23rd Puteri Indonesia pageant, was held on March 8, 2019 at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia. Sonia Fergina Citra, Puteri Indonesia 2018 of Bangka Belitung, crowned her successor, Frederika Alexis Cull of Jakarta SCR 1, at the end of the event. She represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2019, where she placed in the Top 10, the highest placement that an Indonesian representative ever achieved.
Frederika Alexis Cull is an Indonesian-Australian actress, model, activist and beauty pageant titleholder who won the title of Puteri Indonesia 2019 representing DKI Jakarta 1. She represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant, where she placed in the Top 10. Frederika became the seventh Indonesian, and the first representative of Jakarta SCR to be placed as a finalist in Miss Universe history.
Jolene Marie Cholock-Rotinsulu is an Indonesian-American beauty pageant titleholder and disability rights activist who won the title of Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2019. She represented Indonesia at the Miss International 2019 pageant at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan where she finished as Top 8, continuing the ongoing 4th year placement streaks of Indonesia, consecutively since Felicia Hwang Yi Xin in 2016, Kevin Lilliana in 2017 and Vania Fitryanti in 2018.

She represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2020, where she placed among the Top 20 finalists.

Until 2022, it was established that the titleholder of Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan was to be sent to the Miss International pageant. Starting 2024, the titleholder of Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan will compete in an international beauty pageant that is decided by the Puteri Indonesia organization after Puteri Indonesia competition ends. Indri Hapsari Soeharto is an Indonesian actress, and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Putri Indonesia 1997. She represented Indonesia at Miss International 1977 in Japan, where she was placed second runner-up. After Tresyee Ratri Nugraheni Astuti, who previously placed in the top 15 at the Miss International for the first time in 1976, Soeharto became the second Indonesian in history to be a Miss International finalists.

Lulu Zaharani Krisna Widodo is an Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Ambassador, model, athlete, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2023. Zaharani was scheduled to represent Indonesia at Miss Charm 2024, but she chose to withdraw and replaced by the next titleholder.
Puteri Indonesia 2024, the 27th edition of the Puteri Indonesia pageant, was held on March 8, 2024 at the Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. Farhana Nariswari of West Java crowned her successor, Harashta Haifa Zahra of West Java, at the end of the event. This marks the first time a province won back-to-back titles in Puteri Indonesia history.
