This is a list of exoplanets detected by gravitational microlensing . The phenomenon results in the background star's light being warped around a foreground object, causing a distorted image. If the foreground object is a star with an orbiting planet, we would observe an abnormally bright image. By comparing the luminosity and light distortion of the background star to theoretical models, we can estimate the planet's mass and the distance from its star.
The least massive planet detected by microlensing is KMT-2020-BLG-0414L b, which has a mass about 1.9 times the mass of earth, or OGLE-2013-BLG-0341LBb, which has a mass about 2 times the mass of earth. [1] [2] The widest separation between a planet and a star is OGLE-2008-BLG-092Lb, which is ~18 AU; the shortest separation is MOA-2015-BLG-337Lb, which is 0.24 AU. There are 7 known multi-planetary systems detected by microlensing, all of which have two planets. [3]
Yellow rows denote the members of multi-planet systems. Green rows denote the members of multi-star systems.

Some microlensing events, such as MACHO-98-BLG-35 and PA-99-N2, suggest the possible presence of a planetary companion to the lensing star, but this is unconfirmed. Since microlensing relies on a one-time chance alignment, it is likely not possible to confirm these detections.
In some cases, a planetary interpretation for a microlensing event was proposed, but has been disproven. MACHO-1997-BLG-41 was initially interpreted as a binary star system orbited by a circumbinary planet, but a different model with two stars and no planet was later found to be a better fit to the data. Similarly, OGLE-2013-BLG-0723L was initially interpreted as a binary system of a star and a brown dwarf, with a low-mass planet orbiting the brown dwarf, but a model where the system consists of two low-mass stars with no planet was found to be a better fit to the data. [168]
A rogue planet, also termed a free-floating planet (FFP) or an isolated planetary-mass object (iPMO), is an interstellar object of planetary mass which is not gravitationally bound to any star or brown dwarf.
Gravitational microlensing is an astronomical phenomenon caused by the gravitational lens effect. It can be used to detect objects that range from the mass of a planet to the mass of a star, regardless of the light they emit. Typically, astronomers can only detect bright objects that emit much light (stars) or large objects that block background light. These objects make up only a minor portion of the mass of a galaxy. Microlensing allows the study of objects that emit little or no light.
The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) is a Polish astronomical project based at the University of Warsaw that runs a long-term variability sky survey (1992–present). The main goals are the detection and classification of variable stars, discovery of microlensing events, dwarf novae, and studies of the structure of the Galaxy and the Magellanic Clouds. Since the project began in 1992, it has discovered a multitude of extrasolar planets, together with the first planet discovered using the transit method (OGLE-TR-56b) and gravitational microlensing. The project has been led by professor Andrzej Udalski since its inception.
OGLE-2005-BLG-169Lb is an extrasolar planet located approximately 2,700 parsecs away in the constellation of Sagittarius, orbiting the star OGLE-2005-BLG-169L. This planet was discovered by the OGLE project using the gravitational microlensing method. Based on a most likely mass for the host star of 0.49 solar mass (M☉), the planet has a mass of 13 times that of Earth (ME). Its mass and estimated temperature are close to those of Uranus. It is speculated that this planet may either be an ice giant like Uranus, or a "naked super-Earth" with a solid icy or rocky surface.
OGLE-2005-BLG-071L is a distant, magnitude 19.5 galactic bulge star located in the constellation Scorpius, approximately 11,000 light years away from the Solar System. The star is probably a red dwarf with a mass 43% of that of the Sun.
OGLE-2005-BLG-071Lb is a planet discovered by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) and others in 2005, using gravitational microlensing. According to the best fit model, it has about 3.5 times the mass of Jupiter and a projected separation of 3.6 astronomical units from the star. This would result in an effective temperature around 50 K, similar to that of Neptune. However, an alternative model which gives a slightly lower mass of 3.3 times that of Jupiter and a projected separation of 2.1 AU is only slightly less likely. It may be the most massive planet currently known around a red dwarf star.
OGLE-2007-BLG-349(AB)b is a circumbinary extrasolar planet about 8,000 light-years away in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is the first circumbinary exoplanet to be discovered using the microlensing method of detecting exoplanets.
OGLE-2017-BLG-1522Lb is an exoplanet thought to be orbiting a brown dwarf. It was discovered by KMTNet and the OGLE in 2018.
OGLE-2018-BLG-0799Lb is a sub-Saturn-mass exoplanet discovered by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) collaboration, through a gravitational microlensing event that occurred in May 2018. The discovery was announced in October 2020, and published in August 2022.
OGLE-2019-BLG-0960Lb is an exoplanet that was discovered in January 2021 by gravitational microlensing. It is approximately twice the mass of Earth, making it a super-Earth. At the time of discovery, it was the lowest mass-ratio planet to be detected via microlensing; that is, the least massive planet relative to the mass of its host star. Its host star, OGLE-2019-BLG-0960L, has an mass between 0.3 and 0.6 M☉.
OGLE-2011-BLG-0462, also known as MOA-2011-BLG-191, is a stellar-mass black hole isolated in interstellar space. OGLE-2011-BLG-0462 lies at a distance of 1,720 parsecs in the direction of the galactic bulge in the constellation Sagittarius. The black hole has a mass of about 6.03 M☉. OGLE-2011-BLG-0462 is the first truly isolated black hole which has been confirmed.
