Seven Seas Entertainment is an American publishing company located in Los Angeles, California. It was originally dedicated to the publication of original English-language manga, but now publishes licensed manga and light novels from Japan, as well as select webcomics. The company is headed by Jason DeAngelis, who coined the term "world manga" with the October 2004 launch of the company's website.

Gangan is a manga imprint owned by Square Enix Holdings. It originated as a manga imprint for Enix before the company re-branded as Square Enix. It publishes manga in several anthologies aimed at different reader demographic groups in the Japanese market. Its anthologies are home to some popular Square Enix manga series which were adapted into anime series, like Fullmetal Alchemist, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Nabari no Ou, Inu x Boku SS, The Case Study of Vanitas and Soul Eater. The comics are later collected in paperback volumes under brand names such as Gangan Comics, Gangan Comics Joker and Young Gangan Comics, which identify the anthology of serialisation. These paperback brand names are formed by omitting any gekkan or shōnen in the magazine name and inserting Comics directly after the word Gangan.

Studiopolis, Inc. is an American post-production studio located in Studio City, Los Angeles. It specializes in voiceover recording and dubbing for cartoon, anime, and video game projects. They were formerly known as Screenmusic Studios and then Studio E Productions until 2005. The studio is owned by Jamie Simone. It has another studio located in Burbank, California.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Yen Press</span> American manga publishing company

Yen Press is an American manga, graphic novel and light novel publisher co-owned by Kadokawa Corporation and Hachette Book Group. It published Yen Plus, a monthly comic anthology, between 2008 and 2013. In addition to translated material, Yen Press has published original series, most notably Svetlana Chmakova's Nightschool and a manga adaptation of James Patterson's Maximum Ride.

Shōsetsuka ni Narō is a Japanese novel self-publishing website created by Yusuke Umezaki. It was launched on April 2, 2004. Users can upload their novels free of charge and the novels are also free to read. As of December 2022, the site hosts close to 1,000,000 novels, has over 2,300,000 registered users and it receives over 1 billion page views per month.

Cross Infinite World is a California-based language localization company specializing in Japanese to English translation and publication of Japanese media such as light novels and manga.

J-Novel Club is a publishing company specializing in the translation of Japanese light novels into English. It streams light novels and manga in regular installments before publishing finalized e-books. As of August 2021, J-Novel Club has licensed over 150 light novel and manga series and have published more than 800 e-books. It has licensed titles from many Japanese publishers, including Hobby Japan, Overlap, Kodansha, Drecom, Earth Star Entertainment, Kadokawa Corporation, Micro Magazine, Shufunotomo, and Softbank Creative. It was acquired by Kadokawa Corporation on April 28, 2021.

<i>That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime</i> Japanese light novel series and its franchise

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, also known as Regarding Reincarnated to Slime and by the contraction TenSura (転スラ), is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story follows Satoru Mikami, a salaryman who is murdered and then reincarnated in a sword and sorcery world as a titular slime, who goes on to gather allies to build his own nation of monsters.

Isekai is a subgenre of portal fantasy. It includes novels, light novels, films, manga, anime, and video games that revolve around a displaced person or people who are transported to and have to survive in another world, such as a fantasy world, game world, or parallel universe without the possibility of returning to their original world. Isekai is one of the most popular genres of anime, and isekai stories share many common tropes – for example, a powerful protagonist who is able to beat most people in the other world by fighting. This plot device typically allows the audience to learn about the new world at the same pace as the protagonist over the course of their quest or lifetime. If the main characters are transported to a game-like world, the genre can overlap with LitRPG.

<i>Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon</i> Japanese light novel series

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon is a Japanese light novel series written by Hirukuma and illustrated by Itsuwa Kato and Yūki Hagure. The series was originally published in 2016 as a web novel by the author on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Later on the same year, it was acquired and then published by Kadokawa Shoten. A manga adaptation by Kunieda began serialization ASCII Media Works's shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh in August 2021. Both the light novel and manga have been licensed in English by Yen Press. An anime television series adaptation by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ aired from July to September 2023. A second season has been announced.

<i>The Worlds Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat</i> Japanese light novel series and its adaptations

The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, also known as The world's best assassin, To reincarnate in a different world aristocrat, is a Japanese light novel series written by Rui Tsukiyo and illustrated by Reia. It was serialized online from July 2018 to October 2021 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten, who have published the series since February 2019 under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint.

<i>Cheat Slayer</i> Japanese manga series

Killing the People Reincarnated into the Other World: Cheat Slayer is a Japanese isekai manga written by Kakegurui author Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Aki Yamaguchi. The action is set in a parallel fantasy world, and revolves around a boy who confronts characters who have been abusing supernatural powers ("cheats"), which they gained after dying and being reincarnated as his world's new inhabitants. The series debuted on June 9, 2021, in Fujimi Shobo's shōnen magazine Monthly Dragon Age. However, the series was cancelled after just one chapter when readers highlighted the similarities between the villains in Cheat Slayer and heroes in similar works.

<i>Parallel World Pharmacy</i> Japanese light novel series

Parallel World Pharmacy is a Japanese light novel series written by Liz Takayama and illustrated by keepout. It was serialized online from July 2015 to September 2023 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Media Factory, who published ten volumes from January 2016 to January 2024 under their MF Books imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Sei Takano has been serialized online via Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website since November 2016. It has been collected in eight tankōbon volumes. One Peace Books licensed the manga adaption for English release in North America, with the first volume released in May 2023. An anime television series adaptation by Diomedéa aired from July to September 2022.

<i>The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World</i> Japanese light novel series

The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Kiichi Kosuzu and illustrated by Shiso and Kihiro Yuzuki. It began serialization online in December 2018 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Futabasha, who have published five volumes since July 2019 under their M Novels imprint. They later republished the series with Yuunagi as the new illustrator since July 2022 under their Monster Bunko label. A manga adaptation with art by Toshinori Okazaki has been serialized online via Futabasha's Gaugau Monster website since May 2020. It has been collected in six tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Studio Blanc aired from January to April 2023.

<i>My One-Hit Kill Sister</i> Japanese web novel series and its adaptation(s)

My One-Hit Kill Sister is a Japanese web novel series written by Konoe. It was serialized online on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from December 2019 to June 2023. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kenji Taguchi, was serialized online via Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website, as well as the seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X, from March 2020 to July 2023. It chapters were collected in twelve tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Gekkō aired from April to June 2023.

<i>Villainess Level 99</i> Japanese light novel series and its adaptations

Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord is a Japanese light novel series written by Satori Tanabata with illustrations by Tea. It initially began serialization as a web novel published on the user-generated novel publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in June 2018. It was then acquired by Fujimi Shobo who began to publish it as a light novel under their Kadokawa Books imprint in May 2019. A manga adaptation illustrated by Nokomi began serialization in Enterbrain's B's Log Comic magazine in February 2020. An anime television series adaptation produced by Jumondou aired from January to March 2024.
