History

Million Air was founded in 1984 by the Mary Kay Cosmetics family as a single-site FBO located at Addison Airport (KADS) in Dallas, Texas. Million Air's goal was to deliver a higher level of service through a luxury FBO to customers in Dallas, consistent to the corporate image within the confines of its corporate jet. In 1984 Million Air Dallas opened in Addison, Texas, as a full-service, first-class business executive lounge for arriving and departing aircraft which was unique at the time.[ citation needed ]

The company's original goal was to deliver outstanding service in a luxury FBO to the Mary Kay customers and sales representatives at the company's hometown airport. [1]

The need was established when the originator of the Million Air network recognized that their customers and clients were stepping off of multimillion-dollar aircraft into facilities that were subpar and designed for maintenance and flight schools, not luxury. The solution was to create their own “aviation oasis” at Million Air Dallas. [1]

In December 2024, Million Air Albany announced its partnership with Avfuel, joining the network of branded Fixed Base Operator (FBO) locations under the Avfuel umbrella. The collaboration, revealed by Avfuel on Tuesday, highlights the continued expansion of the company's FBO network, strengthening its presence in the aviation industry. [2]

In an effort to expand services, Million Air Dallas created a charter brokerage service, MAnext Powered by Million Air Dallas. The charter brokerage offers charter flights all over the world on private jets.

The Million Air system operates throughout the United States, Canada and Colombia. It has 1,200 employees and more than 1,050 aircraft within its leasehold.[ citation needed ] Million Air serves many aircraft on a daily basis throughout its network of FBOs.

A fixed-base operator (FBO) is an organization granted the right by an airport to operate at the airport and provide aeronautical services such as fueling, hangaring, tie-down, and parking, aircraft rental, aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, and similar services. In many smaller airports serving general aviation in remote or modest communities, the town itself may provide fuel services and operate a basic FBO facility. Most FBOs doing business at airports of high to moderate traffic volume are non-governmental organizations, either privately or publicly held companies.
