Senova is a defunct automobile marque owned by the Chinese automaker BAIC Motor, itself a subsidiary of BAIC Group. It was launched in March 2012.
At the end of 2009, BAIC Group acquired the intellectual property rights to the Swedish car maker Saab's 9-3 and 9-5 models and related powertrain technologies in order to support the development of its own-brand vehicles. [1]
The first Senova production model, the Senova D20, a subcompact five-door hatchback, went on sale in China in March 2012. [2]
The production version of the Senova D70 made its debut at the 2012 Guangzhou Auto Show. [3]
In July 2019, Beijing Zhida X3 started pre-sale, and the word "Senova" was no longer used, but the letter "BEIJING" was used instead, indicating that the Senbao brand will soon withdraw from the market. [4] On May 15, 2020, BAIC Group announced the official launch of the "BEIJING" brand to replace the Senova brand. [5]

A number of Senova concept cars were unveiled at the 2012 Auto China, including the C50E mid-sized sedan, the C60F executive sedan, the C90L luxury sedan and the C51X SUV. [7] [8] Exclusively, the Concept 900 (S900) and the C90L are first prototypes of Italian design studio Fioravanti made for Senova.
The Senova D20 sold 20,008 units from its launch in March 2012 to the end of the year. [9] It was the first Senova model on sale in the period.
Diar Automobile Company is an automobile company based in Golpayegan, Iran. Established in 2000, the company manufacturers SUVs and pick-ups under license from China's Changcheng, also known as, Great Wall Motor. Diar also manufactures their own vehicles. Their flagship vehicle, the Safir, is based on the Great Wall Wingle and shares its name with one of Iran's rockets.
Riich was an upmarket marque of the Chinese automaker Chery. Its models included a microvan, large sedans and supermini Riich M series, including a five-door hatchback (M1), a small sedan (M5) and a five-door crossover (X1). The marque was launched in March 2009. The brand experienced poor sales and in September 2012. Due to that, Chery announced that it would be discontinued. Sales of Riich vehicles ended in April 2013.

Emgrand was an automobile marque owned by the Chinese automotive manufacturer Geely. It was launched in August 2009 and discontinued in 2014 after its products were rebranded as Geely. Emgrand ceased to be a separate brand and was demoted to being a model name under the Geely brand.

From February 2017 until the end of 2020, Venucia was spun off from Dongfeng Nissan as a separate Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. subsidiary focused on the marketing and production of cars, with the name Dongfeng Venucia Motor Company. In December 2020, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd announced it would merge Venucia back into Dongfeng Nissan.
Aeolus is an automobile brand owned by the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company, a division of Dongfeng Motor Group. The brand was launched in July 2009 using the Fengshen name, and was later renamed to Aeolus as the English name, while the Chinese name remained the same.

The model range was originally the Beijing Auto Shenbao D-Series, and renamed to Senova D70 after the launch of the Senova brand. The second generation model added an additional Chinese name, Zhidao, at launch, and was later renamed to Beijing U7 after the launch of the revamped Beijing brand.

The Senova X65 debuted on the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2014 as Senova's first CUV and was available on the Chinese market in March 2015 with prices ranging from 98,000 yuan to 149,800 yuan, positioning the crossover above the later revealed compact Senova X55 CUV.
