Katy Perry concert chronology |
The Lifetimes Tour is the fifth concert tour by American singer Katy Perry, in support of her seventh studio album, 143 (2024). The tour commenced at Mexico City's Arena CDMX on April 23, 2025, and is scheduled to conclude at Abu Dhabi's Etihad Park on December 7. It is Perry's first concert tour since Witness: The Tour (2017–2018).
On September 25, 2024, Perry announced live on the Australian breakfast show program Sunrise that she would embark on the Lifetimes Tour with the first five dates in Australia. [2] [3] Artist pre-sale and general sale were announced at the same time. [4] Two days later, additional shows in Sydney and Brisbane were added, due to demand. [5] A show in Adelaide was announced on September 29. [6] Two days later, two additional shows in Adelaide were added due to the first and second being sold out within one hour. [7] On October 3, 2024, she added one more show each to Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide. [8]
On November 11, Perry revealed the tour would visit South America with Santiago, Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, shows respectively taking place the following September 6 and 9. [9] Two days later, shows in Brazil and Mexico were announced, [10] with four total additional shows distributed between Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara being added after the first dates sold out. [11] [12] Shows in the United Kingdom were announced on November 17, 2024, with one pound per ticket sold being donated to the Music Venue Trust. [13] On November 21, 2024, she added a second show in London. [14] That same month, concerts in Canada were announced, [15] and an additional concert in Buenos Aires was added, due to demand. [16]
On December 9, 2024, Perry announced eight European dates for the tour, [17] with an extra concert added in Paris, due to demand three days later. [18] A third date was later added after the two previous concerts sold out. [19] On December 16, 2024, Perry announced a Bologna, Italy, date. [20] On January 22, 2025, Perry announced a Munich, Germany, date. [21] Five days later, concerts in the United States were announced, [22] [23] as well as a secondary date in Toronto, Canada. [24] On January 29, 2025, Perry announced a Lyon, France, date. [25] On February 6, 2025, Perry announced a Belfast, Northern Ireland, date. [26] A second Belfast show was announced on February 14, 2025. [27] On February 19, 2025, Perry announced a Hanover, Germany, date. [28] The following day, dates labeled as the "final" Australian concerts were announced. [29] On February 24, 2025, Perry announced Spain dates for the tour. [30] On March 9, 2025, it was announced Rebecca Black would serve as a supporting act for the tour. [31] [32] The following month, during her flight into space aboard Blue Origin NS-31, Perry revealed the set list of the tour. [33] Additionally, two concerts in Hangzhou, China, were announced on April 23, 2025. [34] On the same day, Perry announced that Mexican DJ Mariana BO and Mexican band Midnight Generation will serve as the opening acts for the Mexican dates of the tour. [35] [36] Three additional concerts in Asia were revealed by AEG Presents. [37] On May 30, 2025, Perry announced two Brazil dates scheduled to take place in Curitiba and Brasília respectively on September 16 and 19 that year. [38] Australian electronic dance music DJ duo Kinder were announced as the opening act for the Australian leg. [39] American electronic music DJ and production trio Cheat Codes serve as a supporting act on select dates in North America. [40] [41] [42] A third Shanghai show and a second Saitama date were announced on July 16, 2025. [43] [44] The following day, a concert in Haikou, China, was announced. [45]
The concert is set within a video game world, following Perry, a half-human, half-machine, in a battle against the artificial intelligence (AI) known as Mainframe. A narrated prologue reveals that the Mainframe has stolen the world's butterflies and that dogs are siding with cats over humans. [46] During the show, she is flying on wires, engaging in a lightsaber battle and riding a metallic creature. [47]
Dave Brooks from Billboard reported that the first 53 dates of the Lifetimes Tour grossed $80 million from 1.1 million tickets sold, according to figures provided by Perry's management team. It was also reported that the shows at Hangzhou's Olympic Expo Center, Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena and Haikou's Wuyuan River Stadium sold out one minute after going on sale. [48]
Following the opening night, Perry was accused of "low-effort choreography" and using AI in her background videos. [46] [47] [49] Jo Vito of Consequence commented on the singer's "unimpressive", "middle-school-musical level" choreography and said that Perry's presentation simply falls flat in comparison to recent concerts of other artists such as Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. [46] Vulture 's Jason P. Frank noted that the show's concept of Perry fighting an evil AI makes allegations of her using AI "ironic." [47] Local critics had warmer reception to the opening night in Mexico, with Juan Garza of ABC calling the visuals and technical presentation "impressive", while Nancy Chávez from Mexican digital news outlet, SinEmbargo, saying that "Katy Perry captivated Mexican audiences with her magic during her first night of her world tour". [50] [51]
Reviewing Perry's concert in Chicago, Selena Fragassi of the Chicago Sun-Times felt The Lifetimes Tour "suffers from much of the same issue" as the promoted 143 album, "where extravagance continues to supersede significance". She unfavorably compared the show to other 2020s pop performances, and criticized it for its "disassociated vibe" and "cringe-y" moments. [52] Ross Raihala of St. Paul Pioneer Press called the show a "garish spectacle" despite the expensive production looking "cheap and chintzy". He suggested that the concert was underpinned by a sense of desperation, particularly evident in Perry's attempt to weave new, less successful material—tracks from 143—between her established hits. Raihala likened this approach to sneaking heartworm medication into a dog's food, implying it was both transparent and ineffective. However, he felt that Perry's vocal performance remained strong throughout and that she made full use of her massive stage setup. [53]
Minnesota Star Tribune 's Chris Riemenschneider described the stage production as "hopelessly bloated and disjointed", and called the "lightsaber duel with some metal-armored aliens and low-rent-looking sandworms during 'E.T.'" as the concert's "most head-scratching" part. He however opined the tour "isn't as awful as the internet makes it out to be", as Perry's concerts had always been "goofy", and felt the singer's interactions with the audience were "sweet". [54] Dallas Observer 's Carly May Gravely recounted the show as "wildly entertaining, yet weird and unserious," reflecting Perry's own persona. She noted that the audience consisted largely of children under 12 and argued that criticism from detractors stemmed from a misunderstanding of the show's intended demographic. Gravely emphasized that Perry clearly understands and embraces her young audience, with each element of the performance designed to captivate them. [55]
Denise Barnes of Rolling Stone Australia gave the concert three and a half out of five stars, saying it was "far from perfect, but was it a fun, feel-good night with a generational superstar still giving it her all." [56] The Sydney Morning Herald 's Karl Quinn called it a "big, spectacular, noisy and surprisingly intimate show [that] also has grander ambitions, in which it has mixed success." [57] In a review for The Boston Globe , Victoria Wasylak called the concert great for families and praised Perry's vocals but felt the show was cheap as opposed to camp. She also did not like how much of the set list contained material from 143 while past songs that fans loved were cut short. Wasylak concluded: "Perry's legacy deserves to be upheld with concerts that cement, not chip away at, her place in pop history. Until the legacy feels better preserved, Perry's career will continue to look like it's already jumped the (left) shark." [58]
This set list is from the concert in Mexico City on April 23, 2025. [59] [60] [61] [62]

But there were moments – such as during the acoustic set – where her voice shone with emotion, power, and unexpected runs that ebbed throughout much of the setlist. Perry's performances of 'I'm Still Breathing' and 'Thinking of You' from her first commercially successful album One of the Boys (2008) were especially memorable.
In the dubiously conceived segment where the audience gets to 'request' songs via QR code (it sent me to a sign-up page for the tour, with no option to vote), she plucked an 11-year-old to join her onstage while she sang 'Thinking of You', from her 2008 album One of the Boys. Maddie from Traralgon said she'd had a dream about this moment; Katy from California says keep dreaming because as this moment proves, if you dream it you can be it.
Some of the show was quite sweet, like when Perry called seven audience members to the stage to participate in 'The One That Got Away', and some of it was downright goofy, most notably Perry's light saber battle with some bad guys.
Meanwhile, fans in full costume (yes, cupcake bras and 'Roar' jungle looks included) screamed out song requests. One bold fan even asked for 'Peacock'. She did treat the audience to fan-voted tracks like 'Not Like the Movies' and 'The One That Got Away', with her mini 'band' of kids playing along.
The singer, who recently split with fiancé Orlando Bloom, playfully complained about having to play (by request) a pair of 'breakup ballads' – 'Not Like the Movies' and 'The One That Got Away', both off Teenage Dream.
A young girl collapsed mid-show during Perry's nightly ritual of bringing a few fans on stage to help her perform her 2011 single 'The One That Got Away'.
At another point, Perry spotted three costumed fans and encouraged them to follow their dreams, no matter what, but not before handing them shakers and inviting them to join her and a couple of musicians as they performed an acoustic version of 'The One That Got Away'.
Perry brought fans from the audience onto the stage to help her sing 'The One That Got Away', but Ve had other plans first: He asked Perry if his boyfriend of 11 years could join them, and Ve and Perry sang snippets of her songs 'Unconditionally', 'Teenage Dream' and 'Lifetimes' as Woods made his way to the stage.
She repeatedly referenced that it was past her bedtime, and when fans voted for her to play 'Not Like the Movies' and 'The One That Got Away' during an interactive part of the nearly two-hour set, she announced that she would simply 'dissociate' to be her 'hot mess self and play a song from my very first marriage'.
En las pantallas aparece el álbum seleccionado para la noche –Smile (2020)– y una serie de canciones que el público puede elegir a través de un QR. La decisión está tomada: 'Harleys in Hawaii' y 'Never Really Over'.
At TD Garden in Boston, Perry kicked things off with 'Artificial', 'Chained to the Rhythm', 'Teary Eyes', and 'Dark Horse' before leaning into a nostalgia-packed second act that featured 'Woman's World', 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Hot n Cold', 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)', and 'Peacock' — closing the sequence with a powerful 'I Kissed a Girl'.
