Unsub Records (originally titled Metamorphosis Music) is an American record label owned by Capitol Music Group and founded in 2014 by singer Katy Perry.
Perry first announced plans to launch her own label in June 2012. She spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how the label will be managed: "When this record label does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated?'" [1] On June 17, 2014, Perry announced via Twitter that she had launched Metamorphosis Music as a subsidiary of Capitol Records, along with signing the singer-songwriter Ferras. [2] The label's logo was revealed later that day. [3]
In 2016, the label's name was changed to Unsub Records. [4] In July 2017, Perry signed Cyn, who was introduced to Perry through DJ Skeet Skeet after Cyn met him at one of the dates of Perry's California Dreams Tour. [5] In May 2021, Perry signed Michael J. Woodard, a former contestant from season 16 of American Idol . [6]

Capitol Records, LLC, and simply known as Capitol, is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Capitol Music Group imprint. It was founded as the first West Coast-based record label of note in the United States in 1942 by Johnny Mercer, Buddy DeSylva, and Glenn E. Wallichs. Capitol was acquired by British music conglomerate EMI as its North American subsidiary in 1955. EMI was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2012, and was merged with the company a year later, making Capitol and the Capitol Music Group both distributed by UMG. The label's circular headquarters building is a recognized landmark of Hollywood, California.

Informally, a vanity label is a record label founded as a wholly or partially owned subsidiary of another, larger, and better established record label, where the subsidiary is controlled by a successful recording artist, designed to allow this artist to release music by other artists they admire. The parent label handles the production and distribution and funding of the vanity label, but the album is usually released with the vanity brand name prominent. Usually, the artist/head of the vanity label is signed to the parent label, and this artist's own recordings will be released under the vanity brand name. Creating a vanity label can be an attractive idea for the parent label, primarily as a "perk" to keep a successful artist on the label's roster happy and as a venue to bring fellow artists to the public's attention.

He is well known for his single "Hollywood's Not America" from his debut album Aliens & Rainbows, which was featured as the exit song during the semi-final round of American Idol season 7. He is signed with Unsub Records, a subsidiary of Capitol Records founded by Katy Perry, being the first artist to sign with her label. In June 2014 he released his self-titled EP through the label.

One of the Boys is the second studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on June 17, 2008, by Capitol Records. She collaborated on the album with producers Greg Wells, Dr. Luke, Dave Stewart, Max Martin, and Ted Bruner among others, and wrote most of the songs in collaboration with other producers and writers. However, the title track, "Thinking of You", and "Mannequin" were all written by Perry alone. The EP Ur So Gay, containing the song of the same name, was released in 2007 to generate interest in the singer and the album.

The PrismaticWorld Tour was the third concert tour by American singer Katy Perry, in support of her fourth studio album, Prism (2013). The tour began on May 7, 2014, at Belfast, Northern Ireland's Odyssey Arena and ended on October 18, 2015, at Alajuela, Costa Rica's Parque Viva after six legs. "Not the End of the World" is a song by American singer Katy Perry from her sixth studio album Smile (2020). It was released on December 21, 2020, by Capitol Records as the third single from the album. It was written by the singer, Michael Pollack, Madison Love, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, and Andrew Goldstein, and was produced by Goldstein and Oscar Görres. Built off the interpolation of a melody from Steam's 1969 song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", it is a techno-pop and trap-pop track with an underlying disco and techno beat. A self-empowerment cut, with the lyrics about positivity and Perry's indifference to her critics. Compared to her 2013 single "Dark Horse", the song left music commentary divided. Some of them depreciated the single's message in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
