VFA-305, nicknamed the Hackers from 1971 to 1974, and the Lobos from 1974 to 1994, was a Strike Fighter Squadron of the U.S. Navy Reserve. It was established as Attack Squadron VA-305 on 1 July 1970 at NAS Los Alamitos, California as part of a reorganization intended to increase the combat readiness of the Naval Air Reserve Force. It was relocated to NAS Point Mugu in January 1971. The squadron was redesignated VFA-305 on 1 January 1987, and disestablished on 31 December 1994. [1]

Operational history

In November 1976, the squadron deployed aboard USS Ranger for annual active duty training and as part of CVWR-30's tactical air mobilization test and operational readiness exercise/inspection, to ensure that it was seaworthy and combat ready. This was part of a Reserve Air Test ordered by Congress.

From September–November 1990, the squadron's deployment with CVW-11 aboard USS Abraham Lincoln was the first total integration of a reserve squadron with an active duty air wing for a long deployment in support of direct fleet operational requirements. Squadron personnel participated in exercises and officer exchanges with the armed forces of Argentina and Chile. They also flew drug interdiction missions during the deployment. In 1993 the squadron added the roles of Adversary and Fleet Support to its primary mission. [1]

The VFA-201, Strike Fighter Squadron was an aviation unit of the United States Naval Reserve based at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas (USA). It was established in 1970 as part of Reserve Carrier Air Wing 20 (CVWR-20) and deactivated in 2007. During its service VFA-201 could be identified by the tail code "AF" and nose numbers (MODEX) in the "100" series, typically 100 to 113. The squadron's nickname was the Hunters.

Strike Fighter Squadron 32 (VFA-32), nicknamed the "Fighting Swordsmen" are a United States Navy strike fighter squadron presently flying the F/A-18F Super Hornet and based ashore at Naval Air Station Oceana. Their radio callsign is Gypsy and their tail code is AC.

VFC-12

Fighter Squadron Composite Twelve (VFC-12) is a United States Navy Reserve fighter squadron based at NAS Oceana, providing adversary training to East Coast air wings. VFC-12 reports to Commander Tactical Support Wing, a component of Commander, Naval Air Reserve Force (COMNAVAIRESFOR). VFA-203

VFA-203, nicknamed the Blue Dolphins, was a Strike Fighter Squadron of the U.S. Naval Reserve. It was established as Attack Squadron 203 (VA-203) flying the A-4 Skyhawk at NAS Jacksonville, Florida on 1 July 1970, as a reserve force squadron (RESFORON) under a new concept in the reorganization of the Naval Air Reserve Force. The reorganization was intended to make the reserves more compatible with active duty units and to increase their combat readiness. It was deactivated on 30 June 2004.

VFA-303

VFA-303, nicknamed the Golden Hawks, was a Strike Fighter Squadron of the U.S. Navy Reserve. It was established as Attack Squadron VA-303 on 1 July 1970 at NAS Alameda, California as part of a reorganization of the reserves intended to increase the combat readiness of the Naval Air Reserve Force. On 1 January 1984, it was redesignated VFA-303 and relocated to NAS Lemoore. It was disestablished on 31 December 1994.
