As of the 2020 census [8] there were 10,970 people, 4,042 households, and 2,670 families residing in the village. The population density was 4,605.37 inhabitants per square mile (1,778.14/km2). There were 4,611 housing units at an average density of 1,935.77 per square mile (747.40/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 77.38% White, 4.42% African American, 0.36% Native American, 2.24% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 7.07% from other races, and 8.47% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.57% of the population.
There were 4,042 households, out of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.43% were married couples living together, 14.65% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.94% were non-families. 27.41% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.51% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.27 and the average family size was 2.60.
The village's age distribution consisted of 22.0% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 27.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42.2 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $59,464, and the median income for a family was $68,936. Males had a median income of $43,617 versus $29,739 for females. The per capita income for the village was $28,284. The Village of Worth operates under a President-Trustee form of Government with a Village President (Mayor) and a Village Board composed of six Village Trustees (Councilmen / Aldermen) elected at large.

Worth is located in Illinois's 6th congressional district which is represented by Sean Casten (D-Downers Grove).
Worth is located within 18th State Senate District, which is represented by William Cunningham (D-Chicago); and located in the 35th Representative District, which is represented by Fran Hurley (D-Chicago), and the 36th Representative District, which is represented by Kelly Burke (D-Evergreen Park).
The village of Worth is located in the 6th and 17th County Board Districts. Worth is in two townships - east of Harlem Avenue is Worth Township, and west of Harlem Avenue is Palos Township.
The North Palos Fire Protection District operates Station #3 in Worth. [10]

Worth has a station on Metra's SouthWest Service, which provides daily rail service between Manhattan, Illinois and Chicago Union Station. Additionally, the Palos Heights station serves the southwest side of the village. Pace provides bus service on multiple routes connecting Worth to destinations across the Southland. [15]

As of the 2020 census, its population was 152,934, with its most populous municipalities including Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park (19,943), Alsip, and Chicago Ridge. It was founded in 1849, when the county voted to subdivide itself into townships.
Palos Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2020 census, its population was 56,836, with its most populous municipality being Palos Hills. The vast majority of the township's population resides in its eastern half; the half west of La Grange Road consists of the Palos Forest Preserves, a section of the Cook County Forest Preserves. In 1850 the small town of Trenton, Illinois changed its name to Palos; this recommendation was made by M.S. Powell, the local postmaster, whose ancestor supposedly sailed with Christopher Columbus from Palos de la Frontera. When it incorporated as a village in 1914, Palos officially became Palos Park. Nearby communities incorporated later: Hickory Hills, in 1951, and Palos Hills, in 1958. All three municipalities lie completely or substantially within Palos Township. Palos Heights, partially in Worth Township, incorporated in 1959.
