Berwyn is a suburban city in Cook County, Illinois, United States, coterminous with Berwyn Township, which was formed in 1908 after breaking off from Cicero Township. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 57,250.

It borders the southwest edge of the city of Chicago; the Chicago city limit – specifically that of the Ashburn neighborhood – is in common with Burbank's eastern city limit. Burbank shares a boundary with Oak Lawn to its south, Bridgeview to its west, and Bedford Park to its north; the city of Hometown is also adjacent to Burbank's southeast corner. Burbank is less than two miles south of Chicago Midway International Airport.

Palos Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2020 census, its population was 56,836, with its most populous municipality being Palos Hills. The vast majority of the township's population resides in its eastern half; the half west of La Grange Road consists mainly of facilities in the Cook County Forest Preserves. In 1850 the small town of Trenton, Illinois changed its name to Palos; this recommendation was made by M.S. Powell, the local postmaster, whose ancestor supposedly sailed with Christopher Columbus from Palos de la Frontera. When it incorporated as a village in 1914, Palos officially became Palos Park. The neighboring communities of Palos Hills and Palos Heights incorporated at later points. All three municipalities lie completely or substantially within Palos Township.

Burbank School District 111 is an elementary school district located in Burbank, Illinois, a southwest Chicago suburb just south of Chicago Midway International Airport in Stickney Township, Cook County. The district, which was established in 1923 – nearly a half century before the city incorporated in 1970 – includes seven elementary schools and one junior high school, all of which are located within the city of Burbank; all of the elementary schools enroll students from kindergarten through sixth grade. The district superintendent is Carol Kunst.
Harlem Avenue is a major north–south street located in Chicago and its west, southwest, and northwest suburbs. It stretches from Glenview Road in Glenview to the intersection of East South Street and South Drecksler Road in Peotone, where it diverges into Illinois Route 50. At 54.1 miles (87.1 km), it is the third-longest street in the United States, after Telegraph Road in southeastern Michigan and O Street in Nebraska. For most of its length, it carries Illinois Route 43. There is a stop along the Metra's BNSF Line at Harlem Avenue and Windsor Avenue in Berwyn, Illinois. There is also a major transit center where Metra's UP West Line and the Chicago Transit Authority Green Line share a facility in Oak Park, Illinois. The northern terminus of Harlem Avenue is also nearby the Glenview station for both Metra's Milwaukee District/North Line and Amtrak intercity trains.
Central Stickney is an unincorporated community in Stickney Township, Cook County, Illinois, a half mile north of Midway International Airport. It consists of the areas around Central Avenue, between I-55 to the north and 51st Street, its southern boundary; east of Central, the northern boundary is roughly drawn between 47th and 48th Streets. It is bordered by the village of Forest View to the north and the Chicago community of Garfield Ridge to the south and east. The area consists of a residential neighborhood of approximately 150 acres to the east of Central Avenue and a business park to the west, as well as several small businesses along Central. It is served by the Central Stickney Fire Protection District and the Central Stickney Park District. Central Stickney has been trying to incorporate for many years, but faces possible annexation to the City of Chicago.
