Zaika is an Indian restaurant in Kensington, London. [1]

From 2001 to 2004 it was awarded a Michelin star, making it along with the Tamarind in London the first Indian restaurants to be awarded stars. [2] [3] In 2012 it was taken over and joined the same group that also owned the Tamarind restaurant. Shortly after, Zaika was launched as an Italian restaurant but this was not successful and in 2013, reopened once again as an Indian restaurant.

St. JOHN is an English restaurant on St John Street in Smithfield, London. It was opened in October 1994 by Trevor Gulliver, Fergus Henderson, and Jon Spiteri on the premises of a former bacon smoke-house. Under Henderson's guidance as head chef, St. JOHN has specialised in "nose to tail eating", with a devotion to offal and other cuts of meat rarely seen in restaurants, often reclaiming traditional British recipes. Typical dishes include pigs' ears, ducks' hearts, trotters, pigs' tails, bone marrow and, when in season, squirrel. Andy Hayler is an English data warehousing professional and food critic. He led the creation of the dynamic data warehousing architecture within Royal Dutch Shell that he later commercialized as the KALIDO Active Information Management software product of Kalido, the Shell subsidiary founded by Hayler in 2001. In 2002, Hayler was selected for the "Top 10 Innovators" list by the editors of Red Herring, the magazine of business technology innovation and entrepreneurism.

The Capital Restaurant was a restaurant located in the Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, England. The restaurant was established in 1971 and earned a star from the Michelin Guide under chefs Richard Shepherd and Brian Turner. Other notable chefs who have worked there include Gary Rhodes and Paul Merrett.

The restaurant reopened in February 2022, after being closed for almost 2 years.

Hibiscus was a London restaurant which was owned and run by French chef Claude Bosi. It was opened in 2000 in Ludlow, Shropshire, and won its first Michelin star within a year, and a second in the 2004 Guide. In July 2006, Bosi and his wife Claire announced that they were to sell the location in Ludlow and move closer to London. The property was sold to Alan Murchison, and Bosi purchased a new site on Maddox Street in London. The restaurant closed in 2016.

The Tamarind restaurant is an Indian restaurant in Mayfair, London, opened in 1995. It won a Michelin star in 2001, the first Indian restaurant to do so. The Tatler describes it as beautiful, "sophisticated, lively and oddly romantic", and as suitable for clinching a business deal as a grand Sunday lunch or a lover's "light supper". The Michelin Guide calls the cuisine "appealing northern Indian food" and "of great finesse". Jonathan Gold, in the Los Angeles Times, wrote that he had been impressed by its "frank attempt to produce Indian food with the sheen and polish of white-tablecloth European cuisine", though he chiefly recalled "the wine list, the flowers, and the cost."

Chutney Mary is a fine-dining Indian restaurant in London, founded in 1990 by Ranjit Mathrani & Namita Panjabi through their restaurant company, whose current name is MW Eat. It was originally located in Kings Road, Chelsea, but relocated to St James's, London in 2015.

Vineet Bhatia is a British chef, restaurateur, author, and media personality. He was the first chef of Indian origin to be awarded a Michelin star. Both restaurants received Michelin stars, in 2006 and 2009 respectively, making Bhatia the first and only chef of Indian origin to receive two Michelin stars.
