Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, ongoing anti-war demonstrations and protests broke out across India. The protests organised various type of movement like rallies, demonstrations, humanity chains etc. Many protesters are arrested by the government. The protests also demanded to the Indian government, safe evacuation of Indian students from Ukraine.

Sai Balaji is national president of AISA and Sandeep Saurav is it's the National General Secretary.

2014 anti-war protests in Russia

The 2014 anti-war protests in Russia refers to a series of anti-war demonstrations opposing the Russian military intervention in Ukraine that took place in Russia in 2014. Protesters held two anti-war protest rallies on 2 and 15 March 2014. The latter, known as the March of Peace, took place in Moscow a day before the Crimean referendum. The protests have been the largest in Russia since the 2011–13 Russian protests by the Russian opposition against the alleged electoral fraud committed by United Russia during the 2011 Russian legislative election. Reuters reported that around 20,000 people participated in the 15 March demonstrations.

Dilip Ghosh (politician) Indian Member of Parliament

Dilip Ghosh is an Indian politician from West Bengal. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament representing the Medinipur constituency in Lok Sabha. He served as the 9th president of the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On 9 February 2016, some students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) held a protest on their campus against the capital punishment meted out to the 2001 Indian Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, and Kashmiri separatist Maqbool Bhat. The organizers of the event were former members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The event was held despite the University administration withdrawing permission for the event shortly before it was due to begin, due to protests by members of the student union of ABVP. The event saw clashes between various student groups. A video was circulated by Indian news channel Zee news in which a small group of individuals, whom a later investigation described as outsiders to the University wearing masks, shouted "anti-India" slogans. The slogans were criticized by many individuals, including political leaders and students of JNU.

Citizenship Amendment Act protests 2019–2020 protests in India

The Citizenship Amendment Act (Bill) protests, also known as CAA Protest or CAB Protest, occurred after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was enacted by the Government of India on 12 December 2019. The move sparked a widespread national and overseas ongoing protests against the act and its associated proposals of the National Register of Citizens (NRC). The protests first began in Assam and spread swiftly in other states such as Delhi, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura on 4 December 2019. Protests broke out rapidly across the country, although the concerns of the protesters vary.

No NRC movement was originated in West Bengal, after NRC Assam Draft List was published in 2018. It predated the anti-CAA protests and created the conditions for protests against the CAA to grow, especially in West Bengal. The NRC Assam Final Draft List, published on 30 July 2018, has excluded four million residents. The initial protests against NRC were organised by the Matua (Namashudra) community in West Bengal. On 1 August 2018, the members of the Matua community protested across the state, in places such as Dumdum, Sodepur, Titagarh, Palta, Halisahar, New Barrackpore, Madhyamgram, Barasat, Thakurnagar and Bhaybla in North 24 Parganas district and Chakdah, Bagula, Badkulla in Nadia district. They blocked the national highway-6 connecting Kolkata and Mumbai at Chandrapur in Howrah district. Sarva Bharatiya Namashudra Vikash Parishad promised to continue protests against NRC. They also blocked Railway traffic in various places in Bengal. Matua Mahasangha contended that NRC Assam would exclude millions of Matuas. The rail blockade by Matuas disrupted rail traffic in Sealdah division.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, daily anti-war demonstrations and protests broke out across Russia. As well as the demonstrations, a number of petitions and open letters have been penned in opposition to the war, and a number of public figures, both cultural and political, have released statements against the war.

The protest against the death of Anish Khan, also known as Justice for Anish Khan protest, After the death of student leader Anish Khan; SFI, AISA and some other organisations planned various types of protest like rally, human chain and movements. The protest first began in Jadavpur by Aisa and Park Circus by the students of Aliah University on 18 February 2022. The protest broke out rapidly across all over the state of West Bengal, later all over India.

Operation Ganga was an evacuation operation by the Government of India to evacuate the Indian citizens amidst the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, who had crossed over to neighboring countries. This involved transport assistance from the neighboring countries of Romania, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Slovakia to reach India.

No Vote To BJP was a Anti-BJP political campaign in West Bengal. It was affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. The campaign motto was We requested to all peoples of the West Bengal, Vote For Anyone in the election, But Not vote for the BJP on the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. The campaign was one of the reason for the lost of the BJP in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and the resulting Russian occupation of towns and cities in Ukraine, a number of incidences of non-violent resistance by the civilian population against the occupation took place. Local residents organised protests against the Russian invasion and blocked the movement of Russian military equipment, in response to which the Russian military opened warning fire and, according to local residents, killed and wounded several protesters, in what may be considered a war crime.
