The season covered the period from November 8, 2021 to the end of the 2022 season. It was the fourth and final season under head coach Caleb Porter.

The 2022 Charlotte FC season was the club's first season in Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States. The team was coached by Miguel Ángel Ramírez until he was fired on May 31. Assistant coach Christian Lattanzio was promoted to interim head coach.

The 2022 New York City FC season was the club's eighth season in Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States. The club entered the season as the defending MLS Cup champions, having won the 2021 title. The 2023 LA Galaxy season was the club's 28th season in Major League Soccer, the top tier of the American soccer pyramid. LA Galaxy played their home matches at Dignity Health Sports Park in the LA suburbs of Carson, California. This season marked the club's 20th anniversary, of their home soccer-specific stadium. The Galaxy had commemorated their stadium's anniversary. The Galaxy failed to make the playoffs for the second year in a row.

The 2024 Inter Miami CF season is the fifth season in the history of Inter Miami CF and the 21st season of first-division club soccer in South Florida. The team are in their fifth year as a member of the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). In addition to playing in the MLS regular season, the club will participate in the CONCACAF Champions Cup for the first time and in the Leagues Cup as defending champions.

The 2024 MLS SuperDraft was the 25th edition of the MLS SuperDraft, a sports draft to select amateur, usually collegiate, soccer players that are not affiliate with an MLS club, or college soccer players that had their Homegrown player rights relinquished by their parent MLS club. The draft will be held on December 19, 2023, marking the second year in a row that the draft will be held in December. Despite the draft being held in 2023, the draft retained the 2024 branding.

The 2024 CF Montréal season will be the club's 31st season of existence, and their 13th in Major League Soccer, the top tier of the American soccer pyramid.

The 2024 FC Dallas season is the Major League Soccer club's 29th season and third under head coach Nico Estévez. FC Dallas will also participate in the fourth edition of the Leagues Cup and the 109th edition of the U.S. Open Cup.
