The draft will be held on December 19, 2023, marking the second year in a row that the draft will be held in December. Despite the draft being held in 2023, the draft retained the 2024 branding.

The 2024 FC Dallas season was the Major League Soccer club's 29th season and third under head coach Nico Estévez until his dismissal from the club on June 9th. Assistant coach Peter Luccin took over as interim manager for the remainder of the year. The club also participated in the fourth edition of the Leagues Cup and the 109th edition of the U.S. Open Cup.
