The 2025 Sun Belt Conference football season will be the 25th season of college football play for the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). The season is scheduled to being on August 28, 2025, and concluded with the Conference Championship Game on December 6, 2025. The season will be part of the 2025 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The conference consists of 14 football members split into two divisions. The conference released its full season schedule on February 28, 2025. [1]

Previous season

During the 2024 Sun Belt Conference season, Marshall won the East division, while Louisiana won the West division. In the Conference Championship Game, Marshall defeated Louisiana by a score of 31–3. Marshall was invited to play in the Independence Bowl, but withdrew after many players left the program after the resignation of head coach Charles Huff.
