- On February 16, 2015 John Lujan is sworn in for the 118th House district [4] after winning the special election and the special election runoff for Joe Faris's seat. [5]
- Leighton Schubert was sworn in on March 3, 2015 in the 13th House district after a special election was held on February 17, 2015 to finish Lois Kolkhorst's term when she was sworn in for Texas's 18th Senate district. [6]
- John Cyrier was sworn in on March 3, 2015 in the 17th House district after a special runoff election was held on February 17, 2015 to fill the vacancy of Tim Kleinschmidt when he resigned a day after he was sworn in. [7]

- On August 16, 2016 Laura Thompson sworn in [14] after Ruth Jones McLendon resigned from her seat by winning the special election runoff and the special election ordered by the governor. [15]
On June 11, 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the "Pastor Protection Act" which allows pastors to refuse to marry couples if they feel doing so violates their beliefs. [16] On June 13, 2015, Abbott signed a campus carry bill (SB 11) and an open carry bill (HB 910) into law. [17]
Texas's 6th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives is in an area that includes Ellis and Navarro counties to the south and southeast of the Dallas/Fort Worth area plus the southeast corner of Tarrant County. As of the 2010 census, the 6th district represented 698,498 people. The district is currently represented by Republican Jake Ellzey.

Jose Antonio Menendez is a member of the Texas Senate for District 26. A member of the Democratic Party, he is a former member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 124. He won a special election on February 17, 2015, for the state Senate, to replace Leticia Van de Putte. She resigned to run, unsuccessfully as it developed, against the short-term incumbent, Ivy Taylor, for mayor of San Antonio, Texas. Menendez handily defeated fellow Democratic State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer for the right to succeed Van de Putte. Even though Menendez and Fischer remain political opponents, their relationship appears to have been civil.
Trey Martinez Fischer, legally Ferdinand Frank Fischer III, is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives who represents the San Antonio-based 116th District, serving since 2019. He previously held this seat from 2000 through 2017. In January 2017, he was succeeded in the position by Diana Arevalo, the secretary for the Bexar County Democratic Party. In 2018, he unseated Arevalo in the Democratic primary for his former state House seat. He won the subsequent general election on November 6 over the Republican nominee Fernando Padron, 32,375 votes to 13,612. Martinez Fischer returned to the House in January 2019.
Sylvia Rodriguez Garcia is an American lawyer and politician who has been serving as the U.S. representative for Texas's 29th congressional district since 2019. Her district covers much of eastern Houston. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented the 6th district in the Texas Senate.
Eduardo Rene Rodriguez is an American politician served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for the 51st district. Elected in November 2002, he assumed office in January 2003 and left office in 2023.
