Baburao Chinchansur (born 5 April 1951) [4] is an Indian politician and who served as an MLA (Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly) represented Gurmitkal for three terms and Chittapur for two terms from the state of Karnataka and served as a Minister of Textiles,Ports &Inland Transport of Karnataka from 2013 to 2016. [5] He also served as a Member of Karnataka Legislative Council from 2022 to 2023. [6] [7]
Chinchansur was born in a Koli family to Basavannappa Chinchansur and hails from Gulbarga in Karnataka. He did his Master of Arts from Mysore University. [8] [3]
Baburao Chinchansur has been elected as MLA for 5 terms,3 terms from Chittapur Assembly constituency (1989,1994 and 1999),2 terms from Gurmitkal Assembly constituency (2008-2013 &2013-2018). [6] He was the Minister for Textiles Ports &Inland Transport K. Siddaramaiah led Indian National Congress Karnataka Government. [9] [10] After losing in 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election,he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 29 August 2018. [11]
After joining BJP in 2018,On 30 July 2022,BJP gave a ticket to Chinchansur for MLC by-polls. On 5 August 2022,he unopposed got elected as a Member of Karnataka Legislative Council (The Upper House of the Karnataka Legislature). Later on 20 March 2023,he resigned from his post. [7]
On 22 March 2023,two days after his resignation from the MLC,Chinchansur joined Indian National Congress. [12]

Laxman Sangappa Savadi is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the Member of Karnataka Legislative Council from 17 February 2020. He served as the 8th Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 20 August 2019 to 28 July 2021,in the Fourth BS Yediyurappa ministry. He was ex Deputy Leader of the House in Karnataka Legislative Council. He had served as the Minister for Cooperation in the Second B.S.Yeddurappa Ministry and D. V. Sadananda Gowda Government. He was elected to the legislative assembly from Athani constituency in 2004,2008 and 2013 as a BJP candidate. On 20 August 2019 he was inducted as the Cabinet Minister in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa. On 17 February 2020 he was elected as an MLC by securing 113 votes out of the 120 votes polled.

Shettihalli Timmegowda Somashekhar Gowda is an Indian politician who was the Minister of State for Co-Operation of Karnataka from 6 February 2020 until 13 May 2023. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Yeshvanthapura in the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Indian National Congress. He later switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party and won the by-election in 2019. He got re-elected on a BJP ticket in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election. As of 19 August 2023,speculations are rife that he may switch back to his old party,the INC,amidst allegations that local BJP leaders are hindering his political growth.
