Silver Airways LLC., is a United States regional airline with its headquarters in Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport in unincorporated Broward County, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale. It was founded in 2010 with assets from the former Gulfstream International Airlines, and currently operates scheduled flights from its hubs in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa, and a smaller base in San Juan.
Air Midwest, Inc., was a Federal Aviation Administration Part 121 certificated air carrier that operated under air carrier certificate number AMWA510A issued on May 15, 1965. It was headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, United States, and was a subsidiary of Mesa Air Group. Besides initially flying as an independent air carrier, it later operated code sharing feeder flights on behalf of Eastern Air Lines as Eastern Air Midwest Express, on behalf of Trans World Airlines (TWA) as Trans World Express and on behalf of US Airways as US Airways Express. It also operated feeder flights on behalf of Braniff (1983-1990) and Ozark Air Lines in addition to flying for Mesa Airlines. Air Midwest was shut down by its parent company, Mesa Airlines, in June 2008.
Chalk's International Airlines, formerly Chalk's Ocean Airways, was an airline with its headquarters on the grounds of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in unincorporated Broward County, Florida near Fort Lauderdale. It operated scheduled seaplane services to the Bahamas. Its main base was Miami Seaplane Base (MPB) until 2001, with a hub at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. On September 30, 2007, the United States Department of Transportation revoked the flying charter for the airline, and later that year, the airline ceased operations.

Western Air is the largest privately owned airline in The Bahamas. Western Air is headquartered at the San Andros International Airport on Andros Island, Bahamas. The airline was established in 2001 by the husband-and-wife team, Rex J. Rolle and Shandrice Woodside- Rolle. Currently, Mr. and Mrs. Rolle serve as President & CEO and Vice President & COO respectively. Their daughter, Sherrexcia 'Rexy' Rolle, is an aviation attorney and serves as Vice President of Operations and General Counsel. Western Air has two major hubs inclusive of private passenger terminals, full service aircraft maintenance facilities and corporate offices located at San Andros International Airport and the second hub at Grand Bahama International Airport, which serves as its northern hub. The airline conducts a minimum of 40 flights daily throughout the Bahamas and has plans of opening new international routes from the Bahamas Haiti, Jamaica, Turks & Caicos, and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida. The airline operates a mixed fleet of Embraer EMB 145 jet aircraft and Saab 340As. Western Air's fleet increased with the publicized multi-aircraft deal for EMB 145s jets in 2018. The airline is slated to acquire additional jets in 2019 and 2020 to assist with growing airlift demands.
Wings West Airlines, often referred to simply as Wings West, was an American regional airline headquartered at McChesney Field (SBP), unincorporated San Luis Obispo County, California.
Locair was an American FAR Part 135 charter airline with its headquarters in unincorporated Broward County, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale. Formed in 1993 the airline specializes in cargo and passenger charters around Florida and to the Bahamas and Cuba. The airline is unique in that it is an FAA Part 135 On-Demand airline, it has Scheduled Authority for operations in the Bahamas, allowing it to schedule flights and offer online booking, unlike other charter operators in Florida. The carrier has said it will not exceed its operational authority by the United States Department of Transportation and FAA.
Yellow Air Taxi was an air taxi airline based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It operated on-demand passenger services in the Southeast, Florida, the Caribbean and, the Bahamas. YAT grew from a small operation out of Pompano Beach to a fleet of four Cessna 402Cs, all painted in yellow with a white/black checkerboard tail. The carrier had some issues with the US DOT, bordering on offering scheduled service as a charter airline. Once legal to fly more than four flights a week, YAT expanded to Naples & Key West, along with offering three flights a day to Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay from Ft. Lauderdale. Miami service was attempted in 2009. YAT started being affected by the high-seasonality of both the Florida Keys and Bahamas and the carrier relinquished their scheduled authority in 2009. Yellow Air Taxi has since gone out of business. On February 18, 2011, an involuntary petition for liquidation under Chapter 7 was filed against Friendship Airways Inc.
SALSA d'Haïti is a Haitian airline headquartered at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It flies several round trip flights daily between Cap-Haitien and Port-au-Prince.
Bimini Island Air, Inc./Ltd. was a part 135 shared charter operator with its headquarters in unincorporated Broward County, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale. Operating out of Fort Lauderdale, Bimini Island Air flew to various islands in the Bahamas including Bimini, Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay and Freeport. Bimini Island Air focus cities were Bimini and Marsh Harbour. Its FAA operating certificate was revoked by the FAA in 2011.
Gulfstream International Airlines was a United States airline that operated from 1988 to 2010. The airline primarily operated codeshare flights for major airlines. In December 2010, the airline went bankrupt and its assets were sold. Silver Airways launched as a new regional carrier with assets from Gulfstream.

Lynx Air was forced by the FAA to turn over their Air Carrier Certificate for faulty maintenance practices. After that happened, Lynx Air started operations using the Florida Coastal Certificate they had purchased. In July 2010 Florida Coastal Airlines was purchased by Salsa Airlines of Haiti. This only lasted until August 2010 because their planes (one Saab and one 402) were repossessed by the owner, thus bringing an end to Florida Coastal Airlines/Lynx Air/Salsa.
