HD 11506 is a star in the equatorial constellation of Cetus. It has a yellow hue and can be viewed with a small telescope but is too faint to be visible to the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 7.51. [2] The distance to this object is 167 light-years based on parallax, but it is drifting closer to the Sun with a radial velocity of −7.5 km/s. [1] It has an absolute magnitude of 3.94. [2]
This object is an ordinary G-type main-sequence star with a stellar classification of G0V, [3] which indicates it is generating energy via hydrogen fusion at its core. It is around 1.6 [4] billion years old and is spinning with a projected rotational velocity of 5 km/s. [7] The star has 112% of the mass of the Sun and 106% of the Sun's radius. The spectrum shows a higher than solar abundance of elements other than hydrogen and helium – what astronomers term the metallicity. [8] The star is radiating 117% of the Sun's luminosity from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 5,833 K. [4]
The superjovian planet HD 11506 b was discovered orbiting the star by the N2K Consortium in 2007 using the Doppler spectroscopy method. [3] In 2009, a second planet discovery was claimed based on Bayesian analysis of the original data. [9] However, in 2015 additional radial velocity measurements showed that the planetary parameters were significantly different than those determined by Bayesian analysis. An additional linear trend in the radial velocities indicated a stellar or planetary companion on a long term orbit. [8]
In 2022, the presence of a third planet was confirmed, and the mass and inclination of both planet b and the new planet d were measured via astrometry. [10] A 2024 study also confirmed HD 11506 d, but found a significantly wider orbit and greater mass than previously estimated. This object orbits with a 73-year period, and at about 13 times the mass of Jupiter, it is at the borderline of being a brown dwarf. [5]

HD 208487 is a star with an orbiting exoplanet in the constellation of Grus. Based on parallax measurements, it is located at a distance of 146.5 light years from the Sun. The absolute magnitude of HD 208487 is 4.26, but at that distance the apparent visual magnitude is 7.47, which is too faint to be viewed with the naked eye. The system is drifting further away with a radial velocity of 5.6 km/s. It is a member of the thin disk population.

HD 170469 is a probable binary star system in the equatorial constellation of Ophiuchus. It is too faint to be viewed with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 8.21. The system is located at a distance of 197 light years away from the Sun based on parallax. It is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −59 km/s, and is expected to come to within 49.8 light-years in about 959,000 years.
HIP 14810 is a star with three exoplanetary companions in the northern constellation of Aries. It positioned about 1.3° to the north of Delta Arietis, but is too faint to be visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 8.6. The system is located at a distance of 165 light-years from the Sun based on parallax measurements, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −5 km/s.
HD 222582 is a multiple star system in the equatorial constellation of Aquarius. It is invisible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 7.7, but can be viewed with binoculars or a small telescope. The system is located at a distance of 137 light years from the Sun based on parallax, and it is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +12 km/s. It is located close enough to the ecliptic that it is subject to lunar occultations.
HD 5319 is an 8th magnitude star approximately 319 light years away in the constellation Cetus. It is a subgiant star of spectral type K3, having run out of hydrogen in its core. When it was main-sequence, the spectral type was early F or late A.

HD 33636 is a G-type main-sequence star located approximately 96.5 light-years away in the Orion constellation. It is a 7th magnitude star with a metallicity of −0.05 ± 0.07. A likely substellar companion was discovered in 2002.
HD 11506 c is an extrasolar planet located approximately 167 light years away in the constellation of Cetus, orbiting the 8th magnitude G-type main sequence star HD 11506. It is the second planet in this system, and its discovery was first claimed in 2009 by using Bayesian analysis on data previously collected by the N2K Consortium. However, in 2015 additional radial velocity measurements showed that the planetary parameters were significantly different from those determined by Bayesian analysis.

The secondary, HIP 12635 is 1.521 magnitudes fainter and located at a separation of 14.6 arcseconds from the primary, corresponding to a physical separation of at least 660 AU. Announced in July 2009, HD 16760 has been confirmed to have a red dwarf orbiting it, formerly thought to be a brown dwarf or exoplanet.

Kinematically, it belongs to the thin disk of the Milky Way.
