The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia are a series of international ice hockey tournaments in the continent of Asia. The purpose of the tournament is to provide competitive opportunities for Asian teams that are either in the lower divisions of the IIHF World Championships or did not compete in any IIHF World Championships. The first edition was held in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 April 2008, with the second edition held a year later in the United Arab Emirates. The third edition took place from 29 March to 4 April 2010 in the Republic of China. [1]
The first women's tournament took place in Shanghai, China from 10 to 14 April 2010, and the first University Challenge Cup of Asia took place in Goyang-Si, Seoul, South Korea from 12 to 14 May 2010. [2] Junior (under-20) and under-18 editions were introduced in 2012. On 31 January 2020, the women's and men's under-20 tournaments were cancelled, except the men's tournament, due to coronavirus pandemic. [3]

The IIHF World Women's Championship is the premier international tournament in women's ice hockey. It is governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
The Chinese Taipei national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The team is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Chinese Taipei is currently ranked 46th in the IIHF World Ranking and competes in the IIHF World Championship Division III.
The UAE national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of the United Arab Emirates. It is operated under the UAE Ice Sports Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). As of 26 May 2019, the UAE is currently ranked 48th in the IIHF World Ranking and competes in Division III Group A tournament of the World Championships.
The Macau national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team that represents Macau, China in international competitions and as an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Macau is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Rankings and have not entered in any World Championships or at any Olympic Games, but have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.

The Kuwaiti national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Kuwait. They are controlled by the Kuwait Ice Hockey Association and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Kuwait is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Rankings and have not entered in any World Championships, but have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia. They made their debut at the 2018 World Championship Division III Qualification tournament.
The 2011 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia was the 2nd Women's IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, an annual international ice hockey tournament. It took place between 11 November, 14 November 2010 in Japan. The games were played in the Kirifuri Arena, Nikko. The Chinese team was the defending champion, having won the 2010 championship.
The Thailand men's national under-18 ice hockey team is the men's national under-18 ice hockey team of Thailand. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation.

The United Arab Emirates men's national junior ice hockey team is the men's national under-20 ice hockey team of the United Arab Emirates. The team is controlled by the UAE Ice Hockey Association, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Since debuting in 2013 the United Arab Emirates have competed in a series of exhibition games and competed in the 2018 IIHF U20 Challenge Cup of Asia where they finished third.
The 2016 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I was an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 22 March and 26 March 2016 in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei and was the third edition held since its formation in 2013 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. Chinese Taipei won the tournament for the second year in a row after winning all four of their round robin games and finishing first in the standings. Thailand finished in second place and Singapore finished third.

The tournament took place between 9 March and 13 March 2014 in Harbin, China and was the fourth edition held since its formation in 2010 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. China won the tournament, their first title since 2010, after defeating North Korea in the gold medal game. South Korea beat in the bronze medal game Australia to claim third place.

The 2018 IIHF U20 Challenge Cup of Asia was an international men's under-20 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 12 and 17 December 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was the fourth edition held since its formation in 2012 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. To be eligible as a "junior", a player cannot be born earlier than 1998. Malaysia won the tournament after winning all five of their round-robin games and finishing first in the standings. Kyrgyzstan finished in second place and the United Arab Emirates finished third.

The New Zealand under-18 team finished in second place and Thailand finished third.

This article lists the performances of each of the 56 national teams which have made at least one appearance in the Ice Hockey World Championships, an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), including the Olympic ice hockey tournament was also considered the World Championship for that year, and was held before the first Ice Hockey World Championship as an individual event in 1930. With the exception between 1940 and 1946, when no championships were held due to World War II, nor were held during the Olympic years 1980, 1984, and 1988. Also, with the exception of 2020, when the IIHF announced that the World Championships were cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia will be the 13th edition of the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, an annual international ice hockey tournament held by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The tournament will take place from 27 April to 1 May 2020 in Singapore. Singapore will host the tournament for the first time. Last year's fourth place finishers Malaysia will not participate for the first time since the 2014 edition and was to make their World Championship debut in the inaugural Division IV of the 2020 World Championship, but the Division IV tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. India will return after a one year absence, bringing the number of participants reduced from seven to six teams.
