History

KAP7 was founded in California by Brad Schumacher and Wolf Wigo in 2004. [1] [2] Schumacher is an American competitive swimmer, water polo player, and two-time Olympic champion. [3] [4] Wigo is an American water polo player and three-time Olympian. [5] [6]

Wolf Wigo American water polo player

Wolf Wigo is an American water polo player and coach. He has played competitive water polo at the national level since age 13, was a four-year All-America collegiate player and led his Stanford University team to two consecutive NCAA Championships in 1993 and 1994. A member of the U.S. National Team since 1993, Wigo competed in the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000 and 2004, was leading team scorer in the 2000 Sydney games and team captain from 2001-2004. Since 2005, he has been the head coach of the UC Santa Barbara men's water polo program. And in 2008 he also began coaching the UCSB women's team as well.

Kelly Kristen Rulon is an American water polo player. She won a gold medal with the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the water polo competition. She is also a bronze medalist from the 2004 Summer Olympics. Her position is driver.

Bradley Darrell Schumacher is an American former competition swimmer, water polo player, and Olympic gold medalist. Schumacher is a two-time, two-sport Olympian. He was a member of the winning relay teams at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Four years later, he was a member of the U.S. men's water polo team at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Water Polo Australia (WPA), formerly Australian Water Polo (AWP), is the national governing body for Water polo in Australia. They are responsible for administration of the national men's, women's, and junior teams, the Australian National Water Polo League, and development of the sport in Australia.

Ethnikos Piraeus Water Polo Club is the water polo team of Ethnikos Piraeus or Ethnikos OFPF. Ethnikos is one of the most successful water polo clubs in Greece. They have won a record 38 Greek water polo championships and 12 Greek water polo cups with 9 Doubles. They hold the unique record of winning 18 championships in a row and 14 in a row as well.

Bronwen Knox Australian water polo player

Bronwen Knox is an Australian water polo centre back/centre forward. She attended Hartwick College and Griffith University, earning a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, and works as a laboratory assistant. She started playing water polo when she was fourteen. She played for the National Water Polo League's Queensland Breakers before switching to the Victorian Tigers for the 2012 season. In 2013–14 season she played for the Greek powerhouse Olympiacos in the European competitions, winning the LEN Trophy.

Thomas Whalan is an Australian water polo player who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics, in the 2004 Summer Olympics (Vice-Captain), in the 2008 Summer Olympics (Captain) and in the 2012 Summer Olympics representing Australia in over 350 internationals. He competed for the Sydney University Lions Water Polo Club in the Australia National Water Polo League winning three titles and for Club Natacio Barcelona in the Spanish League where he was equal highest goalscorer and won the Copa Del Rey in 2003. Thomas competed for Club Atletic Barceloneta where he won the Copa Del Rey 2004, 2010 and League Title in 2010. He played in the Italian League 2005–2009 with SS Nervi (2005-6) and Rari Nantes Savona (2006-2009).

David Neesham is an Australian former water polo player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics, in the 1976 Summer Olympics, and in the 1980 Summer Olympics. In 2010, he was inducted into the Water Polo Australia Hall of Fame.

Margaret Ann Steffens is an American water polo player. She won the gold medal with the United States in the 2012 Summer Olympics, and in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She ranks second on the all-time scoring list in Olympic history, with 38 goals.

Ekaterina Valeryevna Prokofyeva is a Russian water polo player. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics for the Russian national team in the Women's event winning the bronze medal. She had previously competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.

Anni Espar Spanish water polo player

Anna Espar Llaquet is a Spanish female water polo player who won the gold medal at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona.

The Cronulla Sharks Water Polo Club is an Australian club water polo team that competes in the National Water Polo League. They have a men's team and a women's team and are based in Cronulla, New South Wales. They also have many junior teams which compete in the Sydney Metropolitan Competition ranging from U14s to U18s men's and women's.

2008 NCAA Mens Water Polo Championship football tournament season

The 2008 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship was the 40th annual NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate water polo. Tournament matches were played at the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, California from December 6–7, 2008.

Roberta Bianconi Italian water polo player

Roberta Bianconi is an Italian water polo player. She was part of the Italian team that won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympics and the bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships.

Konstantinos Genidounias Greek water polo player

Konstantinos Genidounias is a water polo player of Greece. He was part of the Greek team winning the bronze medal at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships.

Ian Mills is an Australian water polo player. He competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. In 2011, he was inducted into the Water Polo Australia Hall of Fame.
