Srixon is a sports equipment brand owned by SRI Sports Limited, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd., also owner of Dunlop Sport. Srixon focuses on golf, with its balls holding the largest number of patents worldwide, and having previously supplied other leading manufacturers such as Dunlop Slazenger. [1] They also produce a full range of golf clubs and accessories.

In October 2007, SRI Sports acquired Cleveland Golf. On June 27, 2008, SRI announced that operations of the two companies would be consolidated. [2]

Sponsorship deals

Srixon has maintained endorsement deals with many professional golfers on the leading tours, [3] [4] including major champions Keegan Bradley, Ernie Els, Hannah Green, Brooks Koepka, [5] Minjee Lee, Shane Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama, Graeme McDowell, and Inbee Park.

The 2020 PGA Championship was the 102nd edition of the PGA Championship, and the first of golf's three major championships played in 2020. It was held August 6–9 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California, having originally been scheduled for May 14–17. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the first major played in over a year, and had no spectators in attendance. It was the first major held at Harding Park, which had previously hosted World Golf Championship events in 2005 and 2015, and the 2009 Presidents Cup.

The Match is a series of exhibition match play golf challenge matches that began in 2018. The event features major professional golfers or other notable athletes facing each other in a head-to-head competition. The format has varied throughout the run of the event, with three of the five entries featuring a best ball format where the professional golfers are paired with a professional American football quarterback or, in one case, a basketball player. In all of the events, sports entertainment elements were included, particularly with the inclusion of sports betting elements in that the contestants wager portions of their prize on side bets during the contest. Turner Sports has televised all five iterations of the event. Since 2020, two iterations of The Match have been held each year, one in the spring and the other on Thanksgiving weekend.
