The Parliament of South Africa is South Africa's legislature; under the present Constitution of South Africa, the bicameral Parliament comprises a National Assembly and a National Council of Provinces. The current twenty-seventh Parliament was first convened on 22 May 2019.

The 2014 South African general election was held on 7 May 2014, to elect a new National Assembly and new provincial legislatures in each province. It was the fifth election held in South Africa under conditions of universal adult suffrage since the end of the apartheid era in 1994, and also the first held since the death of Nelson Mandela. It was also the first time that South African expatriates were allowed to vote in a South African national election.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a South African far-left Pan-Africanist political party. It was founded by expelled former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Julius Malema, and his allies, in 2013. Malema is President of the EFF, heading the Central Command Team which serves as the central structure of the party.
The 26th South African Parliament was the fifth Parliament of South Africa to convene since the introduction of non-racial government in South Africa in 1994. It was formally opened by president Zuma's State of the Nation Address in a joint sitting on 17 June 2014.
Kevin John Mileham is a South African politician, a Member of the South African Parliament for the Democratic Alliance and the Shadow Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy. Mileham was first elected to Parliament on 3 June 2013, replacing Athol Trollip. His first parliamentary role was as the Shadow Deputy Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development. After the 2014 National Elections, he was appointed the Shadow Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. In February 2019, he was appointed as Shadow Minister of Energy. After the National and Provincial Elections on 8 May 2019, Mileham was appointed as Shadow Minister of the expanded portfolio of Mineral Resources and Energy.
Dr Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi is a South African politician. He is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters in the Parliament of South Africa and the party's previous national spokesperson.
General elections were held in South Africa on 8 May 2019 to elect a new National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the sixth elections held since the end of apartheid in 1994 and determined who would become the next President of South Africa.
Deborah Anne "Debbie" Schäfer is a South African politician and lawyer who is the Western Cape Provincial Minister of Education. She also serves as a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament. She previously served as Shadow Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development from 2010 to 2014, Shadow Deputy Minister of Police from 2009 to 2010, and a Member of the National Assembly from 2009 to 2014. Schäfer is a member of the Democratic Alliance.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) announced on 20 March 2019 that a record number of 48 parties had registered candidates for the national parliamentary election. Mogamad Nazier Paulsen is a Western Cape-based Member of the National Assembly for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). He previously served as a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament.
Nevie Aubrey Baartman is a South African politician from the Northern Cape. He is the provincial leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and an EFF representative in the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature. He was previously a senior provincial African National Congress (ANC) member.
Nqabayomzi Lawrence Saziso Kwankwa is a Xhosa South African politician from the Eastern Cape. He has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the United Democratic Movement (UDM) since August 2013. He is the deputy president of the UDM and the party's chief whip.
Makoti Sibongile Khawula is a South African politician and previous anti-apartheid activist from KwaZulu-Natal serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party since 2014. Khawula is known for her insistence on speaking isiZulu and isiXhosa in Parliament.
Naledi Nokukhanya Chirwa is a South African feminist, legislator and former student activist serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). She was previously involved with the Fees Must Fall student protests that occurred at the University of Pretoria in 2016. After having taken office as an MP on 22 May 2019, she became one of the youngest MPs of the 27th Parliament.
Thembinkosi Tevin Apleni is a South African politician. Since 2019 he has been serving as a permanent delegate of the National Council of Provinces representing the Eastern Cape. He is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the party's deputy provincial chairperson. He was previously the party's provincial secretary.
